I’m going to be updating this because I’m currently typing it on mobile, so bear with any lack of info or spelling mistakes.
What is this place?
Dartboard Links is a piece of the federated internet. That means while we are our own website with our own rules, we can connect with other federated communities to access their content (cross post, comment, upvote etc.)
There aren’t a lot of posts here - how can I see remote communities?
We are still growing. Lemmy as a whole is still growing too, but there are definitely more active communities we can tap into. To see some of the existing connections, try the “All” tab on your main feed. This will show you content from remote communities even if you aren’t a member.
You can also subscribe to remote communities if you know their community addresses. This usually takes the form of [email protected] - Take an address like that and plug it into our search bar on this website, and it will try to pull in the remote community as a result. Then, you can directly subscribe to that community and start seeing results appearing in your “subscribed” feed.
how can I find remote communities to subscribe to?
Try this: https://browse.feddit.de/
Am I allowed to created new communities here?
Currently yes, and you will become the default mod of that new community. I may lock that down in the future and do it by request only but I’m not worried about that at the moment.
