I started it wrong (or maybe right and then switched to wrong it doesn't matter). Even though it was like 3rd attempt, it wasn't a regular attempt at all. It was something else. Absolute bullshit. My wife's almost 60 and while generally healthy she has to take a few medicines and I'm sure she qualifies as needing Paxlovid. But when she got Covid recently, and a really nasty bout although it didn't require hospitalization, she asked for Paxlovid but was told it was no longer being used to treat Covid.

For example: I was looking for a friend who died and had had a big impact on my life. Her name was Marta Q- and she was a professor of medicine at a state university. Pretty easy right? Wrong.

You see another Marta with the same name who was married to a very famous man committed suicide. She wasn't in the same state. She had no affiliation with the college. She had no affiliation with medicine. The search engine didn't care about any of that.

With apple's recycled event, I've come to say I'm sick of phones.

Phones are already "perfected". They can call. Run apps.

We really need to focus on efficiency. E.g, lowering price, increasing battery life, improving software

But nooo. Add a bunch of extremely minor features with a 50% faster chip so you can watch ads at 1080p instead of 720p. I don't care! Give me a phone that'll last me 5 years and has a battery life that lasts a week. I don't need this crap every year. Why do we live in a situation where people think they need to buy a new phone yearly?!

I have terrible teeth. The ones at the front are okay, but my molars are a disaster. They've been giving me trouble for about ten years. At this point they're literally falling apart.

About a year ago, I decided to start saving up to get implants. It's a big job, and expensive, but I just don't want to deal with them anymore. Replacing them with fake teeth that will last until I'm dead is a great alternative.

So I went to the dentist to get them removed, and he won't do it. He says they can be repaired and that I just need to book 12 appointments to have a root canal, a bunch of crowns put on, and a filling. I know full well that these god-damn things are going to start falling apart again as soon as he's done.

For some reason he refuses to contemplate removing them. I'm going to have to travel to a different country now to have the work done because the dentist at the end of my road is too much of a fucking pussy to do it.

Bees are necessary but annoying when/if you get stung. On the other hand fuck wasp, hornets those are evil.

On one hand, after backlash from making Dylan Mulvaney a brand ambassador, Bud Light is down to 14th place from 1st place in sales. On the other, Mike Lindell is selling factory equipment because his company got canceled so bad after backing Trump.

You know, I'm pretty OK if companies just get tf out of politics. I don't want to have to think about what brand of pillow or running shoe or beer or whatever says about who I'd vote for in a general election. It's hard enough choosing the best product for the best price without adding an entire arbitrary dimension on top of that.

True story here: the reason companies pretend to care about this stuff is that a 2015 study showed that 70% of millennials claimed they would be more likely to pay more for a brand that had supported causes, and in 2014, Pew research found that millennials were more liberal and less conservative – on social views, millennials were 60% to say their views became more liberal. Therefore, to court those buyers companies supported causes, and they supported liberal/left causes.

But you know what? 25 years ago the opposite was true, and the religious right was the dominant cultural force and they were the ones leaning on the scale to get companies to pretend they care about their causes.

But they're companies. They don't care about any political cause, it's just a marketing gimmick. Whoever you are and whatever you support, they'll use you until they think they can't make more money off of you then they'll dump you.

Seriously, can you ever get a name correctly? Never ever in my life have I had my name written correctly. Even if I spell my name, they still get it wrong. How does anyone ever do that?

The coffee is terrible. But I still have to go there every once in a while since it's right by my department, and all the other coffee shops are 10 mins by foot. But I think this is gonna be more of a reason for me to not go there. They ask me to wait for the coffee, and then shout a random name, which I'm supposed to know is my name. And even if I'm the only waiting customer, they won't let me know that my order is ready. I'm usually on the lookout, but if I'm facing the other way, it's impossible for me to know.

And it's not just that location. This happens every fucking where. I know I have a very nonstandard name, but c'mon! It's one thing to pronounce it wrong. How tf do you spell it wrong, when I TOLD YOU THE CORRECT SPELLING!
