I sometimes need to test if a website I develop is working correctly in dark mode, but dark/light mode buttons doesn't work in LibreWolf devtools. Is there a solution for this?

I use a VPN n my system which works properly in firefox, but does not work at all in librewolf. Both network settings are same. What could be the problem?

Hi, How can I get Librewolf take the window focus when I click an URL in another app (said otherwise, to open in the foreground)? I am using an arch-based distro in a Plasma 6 Wayland session, and I know this functionality is implemented for Firefox (it works when switching the default browser), but I do not find the right setting. Thanks!

#Google a annoncé qu'à partir de juin 2024, #Chrome ne prendra plus en charge les bloqueurs de #publicité populaires tels que #uBlockOrigin.

La raison ?

La sécurité des utilisateurs comme principal motif ?

"Ben voyons" :KEKW: :KEKW: :KEKW:

The updater extension keeps telling me that there is a new version of the browser available (122.1.0-2) but it's been over a week since the version's release and even though I have the .deb repo installed the new version has not been installed yet. I check for updates daily and there do not appear to be any errors in the repo. Has the new version been updated on the repo? If it has, any idea why it would not update?

EDIT: The update to v123 came through today. You can disregard.

Hello,

Firefox has a profiles feature, but isn't easy to use like Chromium's.

As it fits LivreWolf's goal, it would be nice to improve this feature's usability for end users.

Please upvote my feature request on Codeberg if you agree.

Thanks

UPDATE: Issue is not tied to the browser but to the specific sites. Some sites, like Proton, will require you to enter a 2FA code every time you login, even if the option to remember your sign in was selected at the login page.

ORIGINAL I'm currently running EndeavourOS, and I have Librewolf Version 120.0.1-1 installed. This is the latest version from AUR at the time of posting. I've noticed that some websites I visit frequently are not remembering my logins. Thus far, that includes one of the banking websites I use, Proton Mail, and Piped. Other websites appear to be remembering the logins after Librewolf closes.

I checked the Privacy & Security settings, and I confirm that the option listed in the title is not enabled. I also confirm that cookies are being stored for the sites I frequently visit.

Is anybody else experiencing this?

My favorite @librewolf issue:

https://codeberg.org/librewolf/issues/issues/770

"Add support for MacPorts #770"

"Since Homebrew is supported why not Macports too?"

Me: a MacPorts maintainer, "maybe because MacPorts actually builds things from source and Homebrew thinks its OK to just be a wrapper to installing a DMG?"

e.g. https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew-cask/blob/56d6d85d58a73a2b481cd5d58216296dd4239e63/Casks/f/flightgear.rb

Bad example?

Well here's the Homebrew cask for LibreWolf itself:
https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew-cask/blob/56d6d85d58a73a2b481cd5d58216296dd4239e63/Casks/l/librewolf.rb

Again it's just a wrapper to installing a DMG!

That's not building jack it.sh from source. I guess it does have a *little* smarts insomuch as it will determine if it is Intel or Apple Silicon (meanwhile, MacPorts still supports PPC/G4/G5/etc. vintage systems. Because: it actually BUILDS THINGS FROM SOURCE, it's not a precompiled binary distribution platform.).

What a bad joke Homebrew is.

Alas, Librewolf's build instructions are uhhh, well they don't build on macOS, they cross compile from ???

I mean there are the not so convincing notes on building from source here:
https://codeberg.org/librewolf/source

But also linked from there is this:

https://gitlab.com/librewolf-community/browser/macos

Which reads: "Archived project! Repository and other project resources are read-only"

I sincerely have no idea how people on macOS build from source, from the project documentation itself. Homebrew, is of zero assistance, because Homebrew: also does not build LibreWolf from source.

Hi,

I'm using Librewolf on macos and have been using it for a while. While scrolling through my settings, I just noticed this message in "Privacy & Security" right under the Librewolf notice about Enhanced tracking protection:

"You're using Resist Fingerprinting (RFP), which replaces some of LibreWolf's fingerprinting protection settings. This might cause some sites to break."

Is it normal to have this?

I have deleted the whole librewolf folder under ~/library/Application Support in order to re-set the browser to its default configuration and I still see this. Weird thing is that on my other laptop running windows, this message does not appear.

Translation icon. (mastodon.ml)
submitted 8 months ago by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

Translation icon.

I started to use librewolf 119.0-7 on ubuntu 22. I want to use translation icon to translate pages from English into my native language (not English). But I read, that to get it, English must be deleted from list of preffered pages. I don't think it will be good way to fix it so because of privacy. Can I fix it another way?

Goodmorning, I have used for a lot of time Firefox. In the privacy settings I can change tracking protection preferences to normal, custom and strict protection. Actually I'm using Librewolf, but I can't see that option. What I liked of that option is that switching to custom I'm able to block all third part cookies. Librewolf doesn't block third part cookies by default. For example, when I log for work with Google and I enter in a page that uses the google session cookie, I can see in the bar that I'm accepting that third part cookie. Of course I can remove it, but when I close the browser and I open it again I'll get the same problem. So is there any way to block all third part cookies in Librewolf? I understand that due privacy reasons the tracking protection is set to strict by default, but why tou didn't put an option to block all 3rd part cookies? Anyway, sorry for my English, I'm still learning it, I wish the question is clear.

Any thought on DOH, which is the base for this ECH? I remember in the end cloudfare and some others, providing the service to services, were the ones gathering the information instead of the ISPs... Librewolf still has DOH disabled by default, and although it can be easily change, perhaps that default is overall the sounder way.

Do Librewolf guys have different thoughts on DOH now, specially with the possibilities of ECH?

Hey, I was wondering if there was any way or possibility to bind an IP or network device to Librewolf running in its Portable launcher on Windows. I have it on a USB key to be used in environments where I'll be working with multiple computers, hence the portable nature, and in surveillanced networks, hence my preference to use my own hotspot and have Librewolf prefer it over the system network. I've tried "ForceBindIP", and while it works for Firefox, it doesn't function on Librewolf Portable, at least from what I tried.

Thanks in advance; hopefully my needs aren't unclear.

Can I clear cookies upon closing LibreWolf and then have it reopen previous tabs upon startup? As I understand it, activating the "Delete cookies and site data when LibreWolf is closed" option also triggers the "Clear history when LibreWolf closes" setting, preventing LibreWolf from restoring the previous session upon startup.

Both seem to be fantastic projects. What are the differences? Which use cases do they respectively excel in? What are their pros and cons? Curious what you think.
