Grew her 2019 from seed. She flowered a little late so I took her to my office, where I have a perfect nice south facing office. She produced a ton of peppers. Then I "killed" her (cut her of way down, leaving her no leaves at all) and left her. 2 weeks later she came back. So I started giving her water and nutrients. She grew back and gave (less) peppers in 2020. As I have been on and off in the office (guess we all know why) she wasn't treated as she deserved. At the end of the year, I "killed" her again. She came back again. So I gave her water. I gave her way too little nutrients (I hardly ever was at the office, she was mostly watered by a colleague), I never repotted her. I feel like a monster. She didn't produce peppers. Then suddenly in the fall of 2023 she produced 3 proud little peppers. So, I finally decided to take her back home and just repotted her in a nice, bigger pot and gave her the nutrients and fresh dirt (after 5 years...) she desperatly needed. I am somewhat exited what she will do this year.

This year I'm growing chiltepin, habanero, pablano, gochugary, and Thai.

The chiltepins are tiny but I really love them. I'm hoping to get enough this year to pickle a small batch.

We grow all of our vegetables and since few years we started growing spicy peppers as well. Our most beloved ones at this point are Habanero and some sort of regular looking Mexican chili pepper brought to us by a friend who was there on a business trip.

I personally fell in love with Habanero because of its fruity notes. It's not a pepper I eat fresh often but we make a nice sweet sauce from it that is used way too much in our household.

As am preparing slowly for the next season, I'd love to hear some suggestions on what I should try next. I'd prefer to try peppers with some characteristic taste. I already have my eyes set on Aji Lemon, Sugar Rush Peach, Golden Nuggets. We prefer medium spicy peppers but I've had hotter. I just dislike hot for the sake of hot.

Nothing too much to see yet, look pretty typical when they're 4 weeks old from seed. I added another 510 watts of LED lighting over black Friday. I will build a little table to get them elevated and have it be a drain table. Once they get large there is no way I can move them around my house. This solves moving them with also allowing them to drain during watering.

Its winter where I live so I reckon that the time was come to pick all my jalapenos. What sauce or pickles recipes do you have?

I was thinking of just freezing them because I dont have any better ideas and I cant find any appealing recipes.

Hi, I'm very proud of this first harvest from 3 plants. There are still quite a lot of unripe peppers left. It was my first time growing them starting from seeds, and I'm really happy with the results and everything I learned on the way.

As expected they are pretty spicy. I think they could be habaneros but I'm not sure. I'm interested if anyone has abetter guess. I already posted a picture of the plants a few weeks ago in this community.

As the title suggests I'm curious what this pepper can be. It is very fruity at first bite and then the heat ignites your whole mouth. The plant was very leafy for the first month and then the white flowers came. The photo shows the pepper after about 2.5 weeks after the flowers came. Thanks in advance

Hey, I'm growing these guys from seeds I got from store bought peppers. In my country they usually don't specify the variety for hot pepper but I think it could be some habaneros.

Any experts here able to confirm or having better guesses ?

The black part is not soft and they seem to grow so I don't think they are rotting.

This is one of two habanero plants I started as an experiment a couple months ago. This one has about 40 peppers growing on it right now and a ton of open flowers.

It spent most of its time in a tent, but I brought it outside about a month ago, and it's taking quite a liking to real sunshine.

Very proud of my 1,5 year old plant. Last year she only have me one pepper, right now she has more than 20 on it!

Sick pepper plant (lemmy.world)

Do any of you fine people know what might be going on here? Leaves are falling like crazy and the frankly looks sick. The plant did have aphids for a bit but that is taken care of now. The problem began before I noticed the aphids and has continued now that they are gone. I fear the poor thing may be dying.

Sorry if the image orientation is off. I couldn't seem to get lemmy to recognize which side was up...

Like the title says. My plant has some burnt leaves, not sure due to the sun or too much nutrition. Either way, the four of five biggest leaves of this plant are like this. I recon they still provide the plant with energy so I should leave them on? Or should I remove them? What are your thoughts.

They went into the germination chamber today. Ideally I get 5 of each out of the 10 seeds from each pack I used today.

Poblanos are probably my favorite peppers to grow. Very mild heat, but tons of flavor, and fantastic for rellenos or enchiladas.
