Welcome to m/Egypt.

The Nile River, the birthplace of civilization, and the home of the ancient Pharaohs. We're a country-themed subreddit dedicated to posting on events that affect Egypt and Egyptians. We're a multilingual subreddit, therefore submissions made in either English or Arabic are welcome.

  1. No Personal Attacks or Harassment |

Above all, be civil. While debate is encouraged, posts containing personal attacks, overly confrontational, or inflammatory speech will be removed.

Labelling users as "Ikhwan", "Dawlgy", etc is not tolerated. No harassing users based on their post history.

  1. No Racism, Xenophobia or Homophobia (Hate Speech) |

Posts that are bigoted to a certain group of people based on their sex, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, religious or ethnic group are not tolerated under no circumstances and will result in a permanent ban, no exceptions.

  1. Posts must be about Egypt |

All content must be related to Egypt. Posts that vaguely relate to Egypt aren’t allowed. This includes random Egyptian memes, posts discussing the Middle East, and posts discussing Egypt elsewhere (e.g. a random redditor’s opinion is not content for this subreddit). If you find a topic that may promote discussion, you’re free to start a new thread discussing said topic.

Sainsbury’s, one of the biggest supermarket chains in the UK and world, entered Egypt market in 1999. They had 103 branches. They exited Egypt after getting massive losses. Although their prices were relatively cheaper, they were rumoured to be Israeli/support Israel.

I am a new comer from Reddit and wanted to be the first to join. I hope Reddit saves itself from the MySpace and Digg route but we will wait and see

This was made after users wanted to know if we'll have alternatives and when we realized that reddit is killing itself more and more, we decided to make communities elsewhere where we can keep all the rules and the community and make sure that freedom of speech is still the main objective of these communities.
