2023 is esp rough for me financially. It is as though when I sold umbrella and rain coat, there was a drought. When I sold kite, it pour heavy rains non stop everyday. Now I am thinking of investing a bit more in bitcoin now.

Bitcoin has seen a significant surge in value, reaching new highs and experiencing steady growth throughout the year. There is the approval of spot bitcoin etf and the upcoming halving event. However, this has led to concerns about whether it's too late to invest in the cryptocurrency. Despite its impressive performance, some wonder if investors have already missed out on the potential gains. Looking for some helpful advice to consider thanks.

(Over-the-Counter) trade in the cryptocurrency market can involve the transfer of ownership of a cold wallet. This method is a more direct and private way of transferring large amounts of Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies between parties. Using this method could violate regulations such as Anti Money Laundering and Know Your Customer but were talking about large institutions here that have legal teams to make sure these regulations requirements are met. due to the SEC current regulations, this is a valid method of obtaining crypto OTC. let me know your thoughts! I'm interested in what ya'll think!

Humbe asking: How do you guys know Crypto is not dead

Basically tittle. I'd like to know about your fundamented opinions regarding this question. How do we know crypto will be close to mainstream again -as it was during 2020-2021-2022?

My perception is that the retail, through mass media narrative and its own prejudices, have had enough and won't enter ever again. Is the ongoing adoption from institutional investors (see BTC ETF) or adoption for business processess fron corporates and large enterprises (ser LINK, HBAR...) or even governments (QNT) turn it into mainstream? Basically I wanna hope there will be more ATH and more market caps for all relevant coins, specially when they can provide real value.

I like crypto tho, specially the narrative behind BTC (close to Austrian Economics)

What's everyone's take on the recent ETF news? Is this really good news or is this possibly very bad news?

I personally saw this as pretty mediocre step into our traditional financial sector with a very minimal impact on BTC and the cryptocurrency markets. It just puts our assets in full view on the open/close markets for a little bit of pump/dump here and there, visible by all centralized investors in North America.

Moving forward, at the time, I couldn't foresee this as being bad for us, this was before the recent almost 20% dip from $50-$40k, seemingly correcting itself on a day-to-day basis, I thought we were in full bullrun territory, if you look at the price, how the fuck are we not in a bullrun?

I've come to realize, is this a good thing for us? The United States just accepted BTC on a very deep level, to turn their back on it, would be to screw over an extremely large corporate entity, which is not what the US does, they love their corporations.

What happens if we see Tether getting attacked next? We know it's been coming, their competition has been completely decimated by the US Financial system, this has been regarded as the biggest black swan event we could face in crypto, aside from Binance going under (and it's kind of been happening, while our market stays above water). We also know CBDCs are coming, maybe they are ready for release?

Are there any other black swans events that could potentially put us back in our shell until late 2024/early 2025 when the post-halving reoccurrence explodes? I sincerely doubt we're going to crab to infinity without other disasters on the way.

Hello, I'm a novice crypto investor that unfortunately succumbed to the altcoin hype in 2021. I recently rechecked my trustwallet and had $300 that I wanted to convert back to USD and put in a HYSA. I converted everything to Binance before realizing that they stopped USD conversion -_-

So my question is, what's the best way for me to get this money back to USD. If there's no option, am I able to use the remaining crypto to buy and goods/ services so that I don't feel like it's gone to waste? Thanks

It seem like doge coin is way to closely tied to Elon musk. He has manipulated this coin time and time again. Now it is almost synonymous with musk. Musks reputation has taken a beating bc of his actions and words the last few years. I feel that bc of him and his lunacy the coin will never be anything aside a pump and dump till it is left in the dust by much better projects. I had high hopes for doge. Now it is clearly a day trade and really shouldn’t be in anyone’s 2024 portfolio. What does anyone else think?

I think we all need to start maturing and learning. Nobody knows everything, but there are people who knows something. That's why you take in all this information and think for yourself. Don't just slam this oversimplified quote of copium.

When you keep hearing people bombarding questions "will the ETF approval be a sell the news event or not", you could have actually done deeper research and find out that in the past, it's actually the LAUNCH of the ETFs on exchanges that price starts to drop, NOT when the approval is dropped.

Second point. It's the launch of ETF on exchanges that started being priced in late 2023. NOT the future potential inflows from ETF investors into Crypto's total market value through SPOT ETF.

Things have way more nuances to them than the "one simple phrase rule" that tries to oversimplify cases and events happening. Learn to connect the dots.

The better version of the phrase: no one knows shit about fuck, is to me: you will know some shit about fuck if you gave more fucks into this shit.

Let's build our understanding for the coming Ethereum SPOT ETF

Good Evening,

This is my opinion,

Many here will disagree with me and I understand most of you have much more knowledge on this subject than I do,

However,

It is my belief that the only cryptocurrency’s in the end that will be successful are the ones from the beginning.

I also believe that features and the newness of the coin do not matter at all. Every-time a coin or token gets produced it is always 1 step away from the next greatest token with faster block time or more features.

You can make the next token the second version of the first one and it will be better in all the ways.

I don’t care if you disagree and I’m rather stupid in the subject but I don’t think people buying this stuff in the mainstream actually care about the tech garble.

What came first will be first.

Original Title: Guys I have a quick question. I’m new in crypto and was wondering how it would go if someone traded on a non kyc exchange on a VPN in the us… and sent their profits to their Coinbase for cash… how would that work??? With taxes and the whole no futures trading in the US???

My friend kinda just got me into crypto and I liked the concept and just crypto as a whole. In theory how would one go about this?? I need some help bc I don’t want to get my self into trouble. I know it can go south very fast. I’m looking for any advice with taxes on crypto in California to safely and responsibly trade crypto. I used Coinbase a year or 2 ago and bought some coins but lost 50% profit so I just sold. I never that in my taxes though. Coming forward to 2023 I’m still using Coinbase but I have sent usdt to an exchange to trade futures with a VPN but I’m not sure if I would ever be able to withdrawal funds? Since I’m sure I shouldn’t be doing this. Should I just stop all together and just buy and hold?? How should I go about this?? I have some crypto I just bought and haven’t sold till the bull run but I wanna get the tax and turning crypto to fiat thing figured out first? Oh yea and would anyone want to suggest any coins to look out for this BULL RUN?? I’ll give you guys a couple. Synapse, and MUBI. Thank you all in advance. CHEERS and HAPPY BULL RUN🐂🐂🥂🥂

There has been some recent back-and-forth between companies as they try to entice customers to invest in BTC ETFs by lowering their fees, or waiving them all-together, to draw people into the market.

This image was posted on X (formerly Twitter) January 10th, 2024 by James Seyffart of Blomberg Intelligence.

10/01/2024 James Seyffart, Bloomberg Intelligence

For many companies fees are waived for the first 6 months, or if >$1 billion USD is invested. In fact of the eleven companies listed, five of them waive fees if investments are greater than $1B USD, and seven of the eleven waive fees until after the estimated BTC halving.

Also important to look at is that Coinbase appears to be the custodian for eight of the eleven ETFs. An article was posted to CoinDesk by David Schwed called "The Biggest Bitcoin ETF Threat No One is Talking About". Besides the point that 2023 was a ripe year for rugs, phishing, and corporate crypto scams - concentrating all those assets (>72%) in one company is just stupid. Remember, when you invest in an ETF - you do not have custody of your coins.

Regardless of loss of custody, there are pros to investing an in ETF, with the most notable being that you can add pseudo-BTC (I say pseudo because you don't have custody) into tax-free, retirement, and other investment vehicles.

However, very large negatives to going into an ETF are (a) you are limited to buy/sell the ETF during stock market hours (no holidays, weekends, and for a limited number of hours a day), (b) you trust a secondary and tertiary party to manage your highly volatile asset (for example, you -> Ark Investments -> Coinbase), and (c) there are management fees for the ETF (you are paying an additional, ongoing fee for the period you invest in an ETF).

Clearly the corporate element wants to onboard consumers prior to the halving, but make sure if you get into the market you are doing so on your terms. Be clear with your own goals and risk tolerance. If you hate Coinbase, do you want to buy a company's ETF if they are just going to get Coinbase to hold it? Are you aware that your crypto ETF investment is not FDIC insured (or CDIC or equivalent body)? Do you trust company promises and competency in light of all the scams out there and not being FDIC insured?

Important things to look out for:

  • Most people here aren't investing billions of dollars - so also look at what the fees would be after the fee waiver period.
  • Compare the management fees amongst the companies offering ETFs, and any other fees you may be charged while investing. If you don't have a lot to invest and want to reduce the take rate for your investment take a really close look at what fees you are agreeing to pay. I will be looking at my fees and reducing my costs.

I'm not an expert in anything, but in my time here in the sub there are a lot of smart, helpful people. I probably won't have the answer to your question but many here probably will. So, my final piece of advice (yes, this last part is financial advice) - if you are ever ensure about anything - do nothing! Do not get pressured or feel FOMO, yet be unsure about what you're doing, and invest money you need. Talk to your loved ones, your financial planner, and get lots of information before investing your money. Know the risks and implications (for example, ETFs are all AML/KYC), and please don't rush into anything. If anyone tells you that you have to move quickly or you lose out big - they are lying to you.

Happy and safe investing.

The Solana and Cosmos ecosystems are going absolutely crazy the past few months. Each ecosystem has grown significantly in transaction volumes, with Solana hitting multiple 1,000’s of TPS at any given time and Cosmos (IBC) transactions and active accounts growing significantly over the months, thanks to projects like Celestia and Osmosis.

These two ecosystems have tons of room to grow as the bull cycle starts to develop. Cosmos airdrops are coming back full force, with opportunities to make significant amounts of money for stakers of ATOM, TIA and OSMO and airdrops opportunities in Solana as well for users of various Solana ecosystems projects.

Which projects are you keeping up with on these ecosystems? I am much more active in Cosmos, so my main projects are a the Cosmos Hub, Osmosis, Celestia, Kujira and Injective. But I’m anticipating that once the Dymension airdrop occurs, restaking DYM will be a massive opportunity for airdrops.

I would love to hear from some Solana ecosystem users about what airdrops are being speculated on in that ecosystem! I know Jito and PYTH (which some Cosmos ecosystem users got as well) weee huge drops, so I’m curious to hear what else people are looking at!

This is the power of the blockchain. We survived a coordinated attack on crypto by the elite aimed at eliminating the working class holders. Good try. Swing and a miss. We survived. We still here. We hold. You can try to fake lower the price of BTC but I know I won't be selling until MIN 1M/coin. Outsiders would think that is an insane statement, but anyone with a modicum of knowledge in the area knows 7 figure BTC is an inevitability. Why? because your currency is dying, fools. BTC will become the world currency, only matter of time, and the elite know this. Congrats all holders.

Could that be the problem? Or can i check that with the TxHash? It is not much money.. but i am confused.. i tried to check the Tx-hash. But I have no idea what i have to look for. And what should I do with a blockchain explorer? I am helpless.

Is the money really gone? I dont know, if I shoul ask kucoin support or coinbase.. its my first time . And perhaps my last time , that I deald crypto

Hello everyone. I am passionate quizzer and member of the crypto world for a long time now. Since the crypto markets get some small movements atm. maybe many new people want to join the crypto world.

I have created a small quiz on some basic topics. I also added some educational information on the correct answer, which pops up after the question has been answered. I will probably create more parts in future.

Maybe someone will enjoy it or even find it useful.

Long story short, my auntie passed away. She was big into precious metals, stocks, and crypto.

My great auntie, her mother, gave me all of her computers because I'm a PC gamer and like working with the hardware, and said if I find the crypto to just sell it and live my life a little bit better off.

Unfortunately, I have no idea what I'm looking for. My great auntie doesn't know what kind of crypto, and I don't know how any of this stuff works outside of the bare mathematics, buzzwords, and hardware usage.

So... Any guides on how to sweep drives for crypto wallets and cash them in?
