The 7 Best Vegan Ice Creams You Must Try (www.theinnovativehorizon.com)
submitted 10 months ago by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

Is it true that without ice cream, life would be like a day in the summer without sun? But what if you can't have dairy or are a vegan? Does it imply you have to forgo this divine treat? Oh, my buddy, don't be alarmed; vegan ice cream has advanced significantly from the time when it was only available in frigid, flavorless slabs. These days, it's possible to obtain vegan ice creams that are scrumptiously smooth, sinfully rich, and beautifully flavorful. You would never suspect that they were dai

This is an andalusian (the region of Spain) dish intended for reusing stale bread with tomato, on which you can throw essentially anything! Only bread, tomato and parsley are truly necessary. I think it probably qualifies as cheap and healthy. Makes for around 4 servings. English is not my first language so sorry for my grammar!

Ingredients:

  • About 200g of sliced bread, stale (you could toast it if not stale)
  • 800gr of pureed tomato
  • Half a brown onion, or 1 shallot
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 bell pepper (or whatever you have in the fridge)
  • 1 litre chicken or vegetable stock
  • 1 tbsp sugar (optional)
  • Olive oil for sautéeing
  • Fresh parsley

Steps:

  1. Sauté the onion (chopped finely) and pepper (in short strips) in a medium pot. A couple of minutes later, add the garlic, also finely chopped. When it's done, the onion should look like it's starting to caramelize.
  2. Add tomato, sugar and salt. Simmer for a few minutes to thicken it a bit.
  3. Throw in the bread, making sure all of it is well covered with the tomato. Leave it a couple of minutes.
  4. Add stock until it covers everything.
  5. Stir carefully, trying not to break the bread. Re-salt as needed.
  6. Let it boil for a few minutes (not too much or the bread will turn into a pulp, we don't want that). Add freshly chopped parsley on top when serving.

Being so simple, you can make infinite modifications to this. Some examples of traditional ones are adding smoked paprika, chorizo or adding prawns and using fish stock (adds to the price though!). Don't be afraid of adding some meat to this as well.

Hi everyone! Thanks for stopping by to check out this magazine about affordable and healthy eating. I'm really surprised it's grown to 100 subscribers within a week.

With the subscriber base growing leading to the potential for more content, I'm looking for a mod for this magazine to oversee it. It's great to have an extra pair of hands in case I have other commitments in the future too!

The only hard requirement is that you'll have to come up with a post or two that's relevant to this magazine to publish over the next few days should you become a mod. Past experience with contributing to r/EatCheapAndHealthy and modding in other places is preferred but not essential.

Please message me if you're interested in becoming a mod! If you have any questions, feel free to comment or message me.

I am no chef by any means, so this is totally thrown together, but I love it and it works!

Ingredients:

  • Broccoli: (preferably NOT frozen, they wont bake/airfry well)
  • Spray butter: (lower cal if you don't go insane with it)
  • Garlic seasoning: (told you I aint a chef lol, use real garlic if you know how to incorporate it)
  • Lemon juice
    My personal additions:
  • Lemon pepper seasoning
  • Feta cheese: fucking delicious with this

Recipe:

  1. Put broccoli on the pan and spritz it gently with the butter spray
  2. Season with garlic seasoning, and optionally lemon pepper seasoning
  3. Place in oven or air fryer and bake (or even broil which I prefer) until they are crispy and darkening.
  4. Take out of oven/air fryer and put the lemon juice on it lightly
  5. Add whatever, I add feta, fucking amazing
  6. Eat!
