Hi everyone!

Im currently crying because i try to find a Solution to Store my Games on my TrueNas.
I would like to save it on my TrueNas so that I have a central point where all the games are, mainly because we are 3 people and the games together are 1.5tb in size. 10gbit SFP+ is standard on every PC so speed doesn't matter for now.

I tried iSCSI only to realize today that my permissions for folders and files are completely screwed up.(Expected)
NFS/SMB is also not a solution because EAC does not start games on NFS/SMB. (Sadly)

I am currently trying VHD on SMB in the hope that it will work, but I have little hope.

Does anyone have any idea how I could implement this?

Kind regards

You'd want iSCSI, but everyone gets their own volume to avoid issues like that.

I will have to update games for each person which means that i need the game stored 3 times.

That is correct, yes.

You could setup a steam cache/LAN cache server so you only have to download games and updates once though.

1.5TB seems a bit small for games these days. What is the permission issue you face ? Can’t you set 777 on all files in your games folder ?
