Headline

PlayStation Portal is a slick solution for portable players

Section Title

The PlayStation (not so) Portable

I don't think much more needs to be said.

Seriously do these people even read the stuff they write.

Getting one as a Christmas present for my kid to free up the main tv a little bit.

He’s all but claimed the PS5 for himself, but if I surrender the PS5 to his room like he wants, we’d never see him again.

I’m hoping if I hardwire the PS5 he won’t notice the difference getting his MLB The Show fix in on the portal. And if it feels good to play on I’ll probably sneak away with it every once in a while too.

It's barely considered portable. It only allows you to play your PS5 in another room, but the device is completely useless without wifi. It sucks because we could have had a PSP successor but instead we got an even worse off Vita.

Quite literally a worse Vita, as the Vita actually had this functionallity back with the PS4.

I'm so glad I ditched consoles last year. So many useless addons and overpriced memory upgrades.

Both Nvidia and AMD offer remote play options FOR FREE. You could do this from your phone like xbox does with remote play, but Sony gotta Sony.

It's very silly. That said, you can already stream PS games to a phone with the remote play app. The Portal is completely optional.

Can't you do better than any of the Sony portable offerings, and install Playstation Plus to the Steam Deck?

Why, yes! Yes you can!

What an amazing piece of hardware.

The biggest downside to the PlayStation portal is the lack of Bluetooth support.

Seriously?
