This is stupid on mutliple levels.
Most western cultures ARE indigenous
Western cultures are very diverse and have varying philosophies
Non Western Indigenous cultures are also very diverse and have varying philosophies
Generalizing the west and the rest of the world is dumb as is, but not even citing what culture the philosophy you're talking about is coming from makes me think that this person either made it up or heard it from another westerner who's equally as ignorant.
