Sure, lay people off. I'm sure executive pay and bonuses aren't going anywhere though.

Rule 3 - Keep post and comments relevant
Posts must be related to Plex and Plex-related products, apps. etc. Try to keep comments relevant to the parent comment and to the post.
Rule 4 - Keep discussions of "media aqcuistion" limited to means and methods only.
Discussions regarding media acquisition should be limited to the "how" not the "what", as this is not the place to discuss piracy of specific media. There are other communities for that, and we don't want to get this community defederated from instances where it's a forbidden topic. Posts/comments discussing specific acts of piracy ("How do I find X show?" or "Where can I download Y film?")will be removed. For further clarification see this post

Moved to Jellyfin last year after Plex started making some questionable moves. Only feature I miss is the intro skip.
I understand and like Jellyfin but as my main PMS lives in a Synology NAS I think it is still the best option for my hardware (it supports quick sync through Docker or app without issues).
Check this out. Not integrated like in Plex (yet), but it's a solution.
Not exactly related, but this extension also seems kind of cool.
I'd be fine paying them a subscription fee, if they responded to our bug report and feature requests. That's much more preferable than ads.
Boo
Plex is amazing. I got a lifetime sub 12 years ago and have no regrets. Hoping they can line up some good revenue streams and keep the great development going! I also use Jellyfin, for my my questionable content. 😄
I understand the appeal of the large influx of revenue that a lifetime subscription offers a company; but boy does it sure seem short sighted. Surely they would be better off offering some type of discount on like a 2 or 5 year deal.
Getting Plex Pass for 75 USD got me into the ecosystem. Now I promote and help support their product for free.
Satisfied customers still provide value to Plex.
Surprised they held out this long. What company is not laying off employees right now
