Wow we are actually bigger than the soccer/football sub in lemmy. We are indeed gargantuan

We are probably the most engaged Reddit fanbase. Other subs have more users but I think we generally tend to have more activity than other subs, so it wouldn't be surprising if we were kicking ass here too
I saw multiple football subs, which one does everyone use?
@joko @raulmedez this is where things get complicated. There are lots of servers running the lemmy software, each of which have their own communities. Someone could setup c/gunners on lemmy.ca just as you folks have setup on lemmy.world.
The kicker is that you can use your lemmy.world account to follow any community on lemmy.ca.
@joko @raulmedez to answer your question, it looks like c/football has the most members on lemmy.world
(edit) I mis-read, it's c/football
you mean c/football
Howdy fellow ex-redditors. Wondering how many of you I recognise from the sub...
Got a brand new username, treating it like a fresh new start lol
Same, my old one used to have way too many numbers
Your username makes me think I am talking to a hearts fan
It's a low effort nickname but I will explore my accidental connection
I was on Reddit with the same handle but I wasn’t active enough for anyone to recognise :P
Ha, same. Maybe this is time for the rise of the silent lurkers!
Dunno what you're talking about, we're all new here....
Well your name certainly doesn't ring any bells..../s
How are you liking this? Apart from it being noticeably quieter?
Sorry, real life rather rudely intruded oday and I haven't got a Lemmy app.
It's not as slick as reddit but as I still mainly use old reddit it's not too different.
It really shows that for all Reddit tries to make things look cool and add paid for content, what actually makes it special is the amount of people using it. If everyone from r/gunners was on here there's really no reason not to stay here and let reddit die.
kinda funny how small the spurs community is
What else do you expect?
Spurs get battered everywhere they go, even on Lemmy
Outside of football news, gutted I had to cancel my ps5 order. So many decent looking games coming out
Sorry to hear that. It is definitely worth it whenever you get the chance, but perhaps it might be worth waiting a little bit to see if they announce a ps5 pro? Heard some rumours it isn't too far into the future.
Ngl, I miss both r/gunners on reddit and especially r/soccer. When the Mhhbop news broke my instinct was to go there. A shame they weren't available but a necessary shame
Never forget this is entirely down to reddit being dicks
I'm at the point with transfers that if Edu and Arteta want a player, then that is good enough for me. They have picked out enough talent and made some great signings that I'm happy to just let them do their thing without getting stressed about who/when we should buy.
And anyone who does sign for us, I will cheer and back them 100%.
We've consistently had more hits than misses at this point. Even the misses we might be able to offload and break even. The better the team does, the more it affords us to have a few duds here and there.
Did you see that ludicrous display last night ?
Happy to see the community adapting to Lemmy, lets make this community (sub?) thrive during the blackout!
Anyway, Rice? Always rated him.
Honestly, I hope it thrives after the blackout. I plan on staying for a while. Reddit just rubbed me the wrong way with all their profit chasing.
Anyway, Rice? Great with some curry.
@Mijn_Bergkamp watching reddit go dark in real-time: https://reddark.untone.uk/
Interesting, thank you
Edit: Wow there's a lot of NSFW subs on reddit
How much do you reckon the user count can go up today / tomorrow with the blackout? Can we get to 500?
The problem is that unless people saw the post about Lemmy prior to the blackout, it's not likely that they'd find it on their own... I don't think we're going to see a huge growth spurt over the next few days
I think the existing posts are still up there, but yeah unless it was stickied, no one will notice it
Whys the banner full of players who aren't at the club, needs to be changed
Just got on here cause im an addict for arsenal news and discussions, anyone got a guide on how to use activity pub to browse and post comments on this community using mastodon?
I sort of feel like we're missing the hot takes so... I really don't ahve an issue with chasing Castagne.
He seems solid, the Belgians still play him and literally no one has come out of the Leicester defence with looking good so I'm prepared to say it might not be his fault.
Remember Ramsdale was relegated twice.
I trust in eduteta tbh, they've learned it; plus our last belgian went well and Stuivenberg has coached Castagne also
Airpod albert also coached a certain belgian midfielder we eventually had to loan out though...
I think Lokonga is still gonna be good, we just improved faster than him unfortunately. You don't get made captain at 21 if you're not good. Hoping we send him on loan again next season to get regular game time.
