Hi everyone, trying to upload my profile icon and banner however after trying multiple browsers and logging in and out, I am always met with the same error:

"SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data"

If anyone knows how to resolve this issue, it would be greatly appreciated, and yes, I am uploading a JPG, so its not some obscure format.

Well I may well be, as I'm apparently using lemmy 0.18.0.

I'm pretty tech illiterate when it comes to this platform , so I don't understand half the replies to your question. Is there an easy fix? I'm just running the version that was linked to from FreeMediaHeckYeah on my browser...

It might be a problem on FMHY's instance (the instance your account is currently in). You might want to notify the instance admins about it so they can fix it.

edit: There's a Github issue that might be related to it.
