There are full time jobs on Seek advertised for less than we pay in rent. Not that I want to be a deli assistant at IGA, but it's a bit wild to think there are lots of people who make less money working full-time than my landlord gets from just one of his properties (I know he has at least 3 besides this one).

Lord has overtones of nobility and authority. I propose we refer to them as landbastards.

Your landlord doesn't keep everything you pay for rent as profit. They'll have a mortgage, insurance, taxes, etc. They can still make a shit ton of money though if they bought before the market exploded. I know my landlord's mortgage on the place I live is less than a third of what I pay in rent.

You say that as though our IGA deli assistant friend doesn't need to pay taxes, insurance, housing expenses. They don't get to keep their whole pay cheque and head out on the town, either.

Fair point.

Try 12ft.io if you’re having issues reading. This really underscores the utter failure of Victoria’s affordable housing model - well, unless you’re an housing developer - and it should be ringing alarm bells that the current intention is to repeat the model nationally.

Fucking Labor are so disappointing for the working class.

But hey I bet developers will love the relaxed regulations and shit. Anything to make the rich richer and us workers suffer more, eh Labor?
