Saturday

1415 Wales v Ireland
1645 England vs Scotland

Sunday

1500 Italy vs France

All GMT for timezones, and what a feast again. Wales with new management, hoping against hope to at least give Ireland a scare. Ireland resting a couple of players even

An England side that have a bit of bounce after stealing a win vs France last week vs an underfiring Scottish side that have won this fixture the last 4 times. This one on paper is too close to call!

Then an Italian side at home vs France that is licking their wounds. A draw last year, will Italy go one better?

As always, predictions, reactions, and comments always appreciated. Happy six nations all

Predictions

Head: Ireland, cannot tell (my scottishness blinding me), France

Heart: Wales, Scotland, Italy

Arse: Ireland get an early 20 minute red leading to a welsh purple patch, but Ireland fight back to steal with a last minute drop goal. Scotland turn up out the gate and rock to a 15-0 lead by HT, 2nd half they disintegrate but hold on with a missed drop kick from a Smith. France continue like last week, dropping the ball every other play and Italy still manage to lose this one - a game that will haunt them for a few years

Your arse prediction's starting to come good.

Honestly I am so tired of Scotland fans like my pals - and often me - blaming losses on marginal referee decisions. If the team was genuinely deserving of a win then it wouldn't come down to marginal decisions like England today or France last year. We were unlucky that Russell had an off day kicking and that was why we lost (litany of soft penalties didn't help);; England put in an immense defensive shift in the 2nd half that won it for them.

Wales are probably going to be a challenge now for Scotland but it was nice to see them being competitive again.

I reckon Italy might have a chance of turning over England this year if they get the rub of the green.

The morning after and I'm still not sure if we were ill disciplined or if English defence was just that good. Will see what is said on the replay tonight

Praying for a miracle: Wales beating Ireland, derailing the latter's apparently unstoppable march to a Grand Slam.

EDIT: Ah, well, nevertheless

Wales may well best Scotland next week after that performance. A big improvement at least

The 20 minute red card was interesting today. I wonder if Wales may have had that if it wasn't for Aki coming on to replace Ringrose. I fully get the whole "punish the player but not the team" aspect of it, but after so many games without a win and then being so close against one of the best, I felt so bad for Wales today. They played so well.

And as an England supporter: I love that we won but I agree that try was held up....

Yup, I'm worried about Wales next round for sure. England got out of jail again this weekend, I bet you are French next weekend!

I think this game will haunt Italy, but not for the close loss. Bit of a bad advert to see the score difference sadly

England's try clearly held up. They are lucky to be only 3 behind

Scotland with the possession, and Duhan making the best passes
