Mad at meta?

Open your Instagram or Facebook app

Yeah, keep on using facebook and twitter, I'm sure they'll be pissed.

Everyone keeps posting this kind of stuff, but offers no viable alternative for a local social media platform. I'm a musician and rely on these platforms to promote events and music. There are no viable alternatives at this point.

I like the idea of decentralized sites, but no one is on them right now.

Don't feel bad in your case. Network effect is still there, and concerts will be the last things that will move from Facebook.

QR code and website.

Lemmy/Mastodon

Call people.

Or, just stay under the devil. It’s not like anyone’s going to make any effort.

None of those are anywhere near as effective. You can blame the users, but the ones in charge and the politicians that let it happen are shitty, not the users.

Kinda thinking out loud, It just seems like we could come up with a purpose built way to keep everyone connected to organizations outside of networks.

Whole heartedly agree. Mastodon is getting there, but no one i know is on it.

Don't use any Meta shit. Or talk yourself into why your use case is so important that it out weighs the bad stuff.

Now I know I'm being used
That's okay man 'cause I like the abuse
