Here's the problem that I'm seeing... Everyone keeps saying that we need to respect existing borders and shouldn't be trying to take land from other countries. Which makes sense. The problem is, with the situation between Israel and Gaza along with Russia and Ukraine is that we have also shown that there are virtually no consequences besides words and sanctions. I'm sure the sanctions actually do something behind closed doors that we can't see, but it's like getting a parking ticket for 1st degree murder, albeit an expensive ticket. And with Israel the consequences are literally nothing.

I'm sure it would be different if the US actually did something to try and take Greenland and the Panama Canal, but what would actually happen when it comes to consequences? I'm genuinely curious because so far I have no frame of reference for what the consequences could potentially be.
