galen of loblaws should be fixing this. Literal criminal walking around free, making people starve because he needs more money.

He's a start sure, but there is so much more.

I think we need to educate foreigners that food banks are not government programs. These aren't free meals. They're meant to keep people from starving to death and are donations of kindness.

I caught someone I supervise using a food bank (I know how much he makes and he just bought a second car a week prior) I asked him privately if everything was okay and if he needed any support from the company. No word of a lie he told me "I pay my taxes so I'm entitled".

I did some digging and that seems to be a common misconception.

Wow, it sounds like he's stealing from charity. Reprehensible

The Food Banks are out out of touch too. They sent out a mass mailer asking for money, explaining the hard times of high food prices and use olive oil as an example. Would people rather starve than lower themselves to vegetable oil these days?

Canada is a dream country for grifters. Just look at Kevin O'Leary, these international students eating for free, and Marc Miller.

Agreed, the price of olive oil - a relatively luxury food item - is pretty absurd to highlight when soliciting donations for a food bank
