It's so funny reading the Background section about the father. Guy seems like a horrible person to be around.

Man, I watched live coverage of that all day long. It was plainly obvious almost from the start that a balloon of that size could not have possibly lifted a child off the ground.

The kid would be about 22 now, wonder if we’ll ever get the real dirt.

What a hullabaloo this was

The instant I saw the video of the thing flying on the news it was completely obvious there was no weight in it, it was just a partially inflated Mylar balloon. I just felt super bad for that poor manipulated kid

When Falcon and his family were being interviewed later in the day by Wolf Blitzer on CNN's Larry King Live he asked Falcon, "Why did you not come out of the garage?" After his parents repeated the question, he responded, "You guys said that, um, we did this for the show."[9] Blitzer questioned Heene and Falcon further after the statement was made. The next day, during interviews on ABC's Good Morning America and NBC's Today, the boy vomited when he was asked about his comment and again when his father was asked about it, fueling more suspicion.

"the show" being a reality TV show that they hoped would get made about their family

WTF .. in 2020 they were pardoned.

[–] [email protected] -1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Oh relax. It was all but a victimless crime and the culprits were pursued by the law for a decade. Ah Americans! Always this obsession to punish! punish! punish! End of rant.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

What makes you think that I'm American?

What makes you think that it was victimless, just because nobody died or ended up in hospital?

Did you consider the society resources used to track the hoax and what impact might have resulted across the community at the time and afterwards?

The hoax was an entirely selfish act and they were convicted for that. The pardon says: What you did was acceptable behaviour.

Sure. But don't you think that a decade of being publicly villainized was enough punishment? You clearly hate them and apparently you're only one of millions. I think the world could do with a bit less recrimination and a bit more forgiveness.

Whatever you say, Falcon.

What was the one mistake those people in Denver made? There was no kid in the balloon! When José jumps out of there, or whatever, people are going to go nuts.
