For the same reason that the Athletic can post the Rice clip and half the comments insist that "he just shouldn't have touched the ball" while someone takes a quick free kick right next to their goal for the express purpose of trying to get Rice sent off.
People are morons and they'd rather score a point against Arsenal fans than admit that referees are being given more and more power with every shit decision they make that goes unpunished. They don't care until it's their team's turn to get fucked by it.
The refs basically have been given a license to be shite and biased this season.
And on top of that, VAR has basically abdicated its responsibilities. Contentious red card? Silence. Checking possible offside that everyone had already accepted was offside? Well, let's break out the old iPad now.
I'm going to put myself on the block here. Rice didn't lose it for us, our front 3 did (again) we had numerous chances in the first half which a clinical striker would have put to bed. We were all over them for 70% of the first half and only managed one goal from a horrendous error from Dunk.
If Rice didn't get sent off, we probably would have won it - but we should have put the game to bed before half time. Take the lesson on the chin, then be more ruthless against spuds.
Fuck this shit. I'm stuck working a night shift at a hospital - I'm scrolling twatter and melting my mind at the second yellow.

He flicks his right foot out, it's debatable whether he knows that they're taking a quick free kick, though.
I just love that the ball is still in motion, so their quick free kick would have had to come back anyway.
