Question About Shipping Gift in Plain White Envelope from US to Denmark (leddit.danmark.party)

Hello!

I’m trying to send a small gift (a few trading cards worth $20 or less) from the US to someone in Denmark and I’m trying to figure out the logistics here. I use a shipping program and I can send an international package in an envelope for around $4-$5. I select an HS code, but my question is about the certificate of origin. How do I get both the label and the certificate on a small white envelope? Do I still need a certificate of origin in this case? I’ve sent packages internationally before, but they’ve been boxes where I can just tape the certificate to the side.

I guess another option is to just put an international stamp on there and send it as a letter with a few cards in there. I assume this is bending or even breaking the rules, but I’m not sure.

Anyone have any experience with this and can advise? It would be greatly appreciated!

I'd send it as a letter, honestly. But if you're sending it as a parcel, use one of the sticky plastic pockets and put the COO underneath the waybill. They'll open it up if they need it.

Your recipient may end up needing to pay VAT (sales tax) on the items and an administrative fee as well, FYI. https://toldst.dk/en-us/individuals/online-shopping/online-shopping-outside-the-eu
