Or am I doing it wrong? My expectation is that when I block a community it will stop showing up in my feed including “all”. This is not happening. Blocked communities are still showing up. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Hmm it should send the request to Lemmy to block it. I’m guessing you have refreshed and it still shows up. Let me test.

Blocking a community does not remove it from the current refresh of your feed, you will need to refresh. There can also be multiple iterations of the same community inn multiple instances. Such as memes on Lemmy ml, and Lemmy world etc.

I’m slowly blocking communities from languages I can’t read. But there has to be a way to filter and view only languages you choose right?

I’d also love this. Nothing against those communities, I just can’t read them so would rather not have them appear in my feed.

Guys, is there some shortcut to block instance? Or it is all manual for now? Sometimes it’s hard to remember the name of the instance while typing it in blocklist

Go to that community in Memmy, tap the three dots icon in the top right of the app, you get an option to block that community.

Is there a planned feature to block a community via the ellipsis like you can with a user?

I’m loving the app! Just trying to customize my feed to my interests as quick and easily as possible.
