If you made progress this month:

Congratulations! We'd love to hear about it!

Title, platform, genre, etc.

Did you complete the game?

What did you think of it?

Did you start on one game and switch to another?

Make sure to use spoiler tags if you're posting anything about a game's plot that might significantly hurt the experience of others that haven't played the game yet (no matter how old or new the game is).

If you didn't make progress this month:

Things happen! It's okay. Reflect on it and commiserate with others.

I only put in a few hours toward the games I had planned to complete for February. My plan got blindsided by friends wanting to play City of Heroes, which was honestly a blast. I did get a character to max level. So maybe I can count that as completing something for a game since I've never done that for an MMORPG.

This month I didn't have the energy to play much VR so I didn't finish any games on the Quest. However, I did finish a couple of games on my phone:

Pokemon Gold

I wanted to play a GBA remake of the Johto region, but couldn't find a faithful one, so I just decided to play the original on the GBC, I didn't like the graphics at first, but got used to them quickly. I'm not a great Pokemon player by any means, so I did have to brute force the final battles a bit which made the endgame grind a bit tedious but the fast forward option on the emulator helped a lot. I'm not sure if I could play the games without it at all, as all the animations and battle transitions take a while and try my patience a bit. Overall, the game is pretty easy up until the final few battles.

Builderment

As a big fan of Factorio I'm always looking for a good mobile clone of the game and this one was mentioned in a comment here on Lemmy somewhere so I decided to try it and I've got to say, it did not disappoint. It is simpler than Factorio, but the end game machines and recepies did require a bit of a headscratch to figure out the most optimal ratios and arrangement which is exactly what I'm looking for in these kind of games. While it is a f2p mobile game with micro transactions (with shockingly high prices), they never got in the way of the experience without spending any money.

I've also started playing Broken Sword 5 last weekend, but didn't finish it yet. After playing 1, 2 and the fan made 2.5 I really enjoyed the charm and humor in the games, but I decided to skip 3 and 4 after reading the negative reviews and talking with my brother, who is a huge fan of the series.
