Yeah makes sense, also in my opinion the low population works as well as long as people share the same values, look at Norway having such a low density but people from Oslo still are very similar to ones in Tromsø (i hope no norwegian reads this I might get impaled for that), you know what I mean

I kinda get the annoying part. But honestly, i am just happy that, for the most part, this is the main joke about dk. Honestly, we can take the joke on the chin, no problem. i think a lot of Danes have experienced difficulties with the language at some point in their lives. Most languages have nonsensical rules and sounds, being a part of them, too. It's not unusual to hear someone saying that Danish is difficult to learn either.

Tbh this joke is pretty overused by now. In general, Danes like self deprecating humour. I think it might have to do with feeling a bit unimportant due to our small size. We rarely try to be boisterous or take pride in anything (maybe that's Janteloven at play). Sometimes it gets a bit too much, though... I mean, Ukraine is small in comparison to Russia, but still got balls. South Korea is small compared to Japan, but still got balls. In my opinion, we could probably try to be a bit more ballsy just once in a while. But then again, we are pretty comfortable where we are, so there's not motivation to go and shake things up a lot. That said, we do take pride in being a safe and cozy country!
But to be honest, Danish does not sound nice to my ears either haha... except for one time, in Mr Robot, I heard a Danish actor sing "Solen er så rød, mor". It was such a chilling scene. That was the first time Danish sounded beautiful to my ears.
