Over the years I've been discovering rock bands which I really digged and found out that they are from Denmark.

It started with Mew, then I got into VETO, Turboweekend, Spleen United, Dúné, The Floor Is Made Of Lava, Reptile Youth, When Saints Go Machine, Carpark North and few others.

I love this scene and it has always amazed me that most of these bands I enjoyed so much are from Denmark.

I even made a separate Spotify playlist for this, although it doesn't limit only to Danish bands.

Most releases from 2000s up to mid 2010s are so good, it makes me even think it was some sort of golden age of this type of music, but lately it feels like it fell off. Last VETO album is from 2018 and it was not it. And most other bands stopped releasing anything at all, with very few exceptions.

So, I was hoping to find some Danes who are familiar with the subject and could give me some recommendations about artists which I missed, or, perhaps, new artists?

At this point, even Spotify's "song radio" feature doesn't give me many new results, so I'm a bit desperate :(

Also, funny enough, there was a similar thread (except for the part about falling off) from 9 years ago in this sub. I wonder if there was new good stuff release in past decade, since that thread.

P.S. - I'm also into Kashmir, Dizzy Mizz Lizzy and some other Danish bands, but, in my opinion, they lie in a bit different genre. They are more of a traditional alternative rock and Dizzy Mizz Lizzy even has some prog to it.

TL;DR: Can someone please recommend me new artists similar to VETO, Carpark North, Turboweekend, Mew, Dúné, Spleen United, The Floor Is Made Of Lava, Reptile Youth, When Saints go Machine, WhoMadeWho, Ginger Ninja, etc

Oh, that's some IDM, Glitch and Breakbeat stuff right there (Karsten Pflum, Sofus Forsberg, Badun and Bjørn svin)! Not quite electronic rock, but definitely electronic :D Thank you, that's quite interesting, although I'm craving for something else right now.

Rumpistol is beautiful. Thanks!

I'd definitely recommend you check out these - some of them are live performances, as I believe they're superior to the studio version:

Hymns from Nineveh - Kastanjer

Zar Paulo - Jeg Synes Du er Dejlig

Fugleflugten - Det Er På Tide

Fugleflugten - Terra Ignota

Hugorm - Folk skal bare holde deres kæft

Brothers Moving - Can't Deny

Brothers Moving - Since You Left Home

Nephew - New Year's Morning

Does Hess is more fit into what you like? It's definitely electronic, from the 2000s and danish.

Certainly the music industry changing will have had some impact, although these issues were surfacing all the way back in the 90s. Not a lot of organic growth anymore.

Any artist with potential will get picked up by a major label and ripped apart by fees to the point that they will not make any money for many years and only if they can grow beyond Denmark.

I love exactly the same music you describe. I think you should hear Blaue Blume and Who made Who.

Check out EPO-555 (the Dexter Fox album) and The Fashion!

I can recommend Dial Zero. They played on Roskilde festival in 2005. Went on tour in the states. They’re on Spotify as well.

it makes me even think it was some sort of golden age of this type of music,

You already have the answer for your question.

It was a golden age for Danish rock indie music. I think it might be due to Danish record labels focusing on pop music and neglecting other music genres.

Not sure if this fits your bill, and its in Korean, but the Korean shoegaze scene is pretty good.

The entire album is pretty good

I also really feel the indie-wave starting around 2010 should have a shout-out here with sublime bands such as Choir of Young Believers, Ice Cream Cathedral, Young Dinosaur, Guns, Waldo & Marsha, Vinnie Who etc. Not really the same "dense" sound as many of the mentioned, but I have enjoyed these bands a lot.

These bands have some musical connections to a lot of the interesting stuff going on in the indie scene today with bands such as Lucky Lo, Barbro, Gorgeous, ML Buch, Hjalte Ross, Luster etc etc etc.
