Same thing happens to me
Jerboa
Jerboa is a native-android client for Lemmy, built using the native android framework, Jetpack Compose.
Warning: You can submit issues, but between Lemmy and lemmy-ui, I probably won't have too much time to work on them. Learn jetpack compose like I did if you want to help make this app better.

This and the rotate phone "loses all context" bugs are frustrating. I'm excited to see these things get fixed soon.
Please submit this bug to the issue tracker on GitHub. Make sure it doesn't already exist first though :)
Idk if @Kresten is a developer on Jerboa or not, but just know that the influx of new users migrating from reddit, like myself, might be causing issues for developers who used to only get a few pull requests a day are well over hundreds of issue tickets being submitted per day so it might take a bit before they can get to your bug/issue.
Yeah. I'm not a developer on the project, but I try to help manage the tickets. As a developer myself, I can say any contribution is welcome (reporting an issue)
I can't reproduce this as written. It happens if your device changes orientation though.
