He did give the advantage, but to Spurs
For some reasons he thought Haaland would not be able to make such a pass and blowed it before Haaland passed.
This dude Hooper has a serious problem of thinking ahead with his nonexistent football knowledge. Happened with Wolves v Man Utd, Liv v Tot, then this.
I really enjoyed Haaland having a tantrum like a Liverpool fan at the end. With a bit of luck the FA will take some kind of action
Around 20 years ago, last game of the UEFA Cup group stage I watched a referee blowing the whistle as the ball was going in the goal. So remember, it can always be worse.
I think City robbed themselves. The so-called best team in the world couldn't beat and conceded three at home to what is basically mostly our second string where we didn't have one senior centre back in the squad.
City will need to look a little closer to home on this one.
The referee has obviously gotten himself completely caught in two minds but there's absolutely no guarantee Grealish scores at all as Davies and Royal were getting around him and the keeper would have likely rushed out, also.
Seems like this happens every time they play Tottenham
The explanation for this one is going to be the best yet .
I didn’t see the game, but good.
Bro it's one call they had against them Vs the trillion they get in their favour. Just like the Newcastle pen call.
Yes, let's lynch the ref for the one (huge) mistake he made this game.
How about Haaland not being able to do the one thing he is paid to do up top? Put the ball in the open net? THAT is why City got only 1 point today, not because Hooper made a huge mistake at the end.
99% sure he thought about awarding a free kick when the challenge happened then thought nah it wasn’t a free kick. Then he got a call in his ear from linesman or 4th that it was a foul so then blew. Thats the only explanation which makes sense.
awww diddums
Oh well, fuck’em
There are many, many problems with reffing in the Prem, it’s not just one thing. But this one is a great example of the incompetence. That was just so, so, bad and I’m an Arsenal supporter.
For us all to be in better shape, we absolutely must call out the bullshit as unacceptable no matter the club on the receiving end.
I don’t expect nor want apologies. Refereeing in general, across all sport.. is random as hell. It’s inconsistent and for the most part it’s incompetent. But that’s human error. City got the short stick today but .. and I’m sure everyone else knows this..and will say it.. city have had a good share of favorable calls as well. Shit happens.
We gotta stop acting like one decision determines a match. There's 100 minutes of football played with countless refereeing decisions and non-decisions throughout.
The way red cards have been handed out this season Gvardiol could easily have been sent off for his reckless high slide tackle. You can make arguments about any yellow card given throughout a game and say maybe that's harsh, and it changes the game because that player has to play differently for the rest of the game.
The way City were missing chances who's to say that Grealish would even have scored? Anything could have happened. Ref could have given about 7 City players yellow cards for dissent as well in the aftermath of the mistake which would bring players closer to suspension. Pretty sure Grealish was still in the face of the 4th official more than a minute after the incident, and he was already on a yellow. Rodri was having a go at the ref too. Haaland could have had 4 separate yellows for it.
So much goes on in a game of football that one decision does not determine the outcome.
Grealish would have inevitably Pepped up. What is the issue?
I’m old enough and ugly enough to remember Coutinho being flagged offside against them last year before smashing the ball into the net and the ref had blown his whistle- got them a point despite being outplayed at villa park.
I have no sympathy for them, had the rub of the green for decisions for years, normal service will resume Wednesday too, guaranteed ref in the pocket display coming.
My 6 years Olds Sunday league has better officiating and that'd just the coaches
Did they take away a goal? Allow a bad one? No and no. Quit whining; no felony just a misdemeanor.
Man city has been robbing the league for years. Hopefully the FA has the guts to properly penalise them for their 118 breaches.
Come on...you only have to watch the Champions League to see the refs in Europe are a lot worse. All the worst decisions I can actually remember from the past were in the Champions League or international football. If some of the incredibly soft pens given in the Champions League were given in the Premier League, the uproar would be off the scale
