Just a point deduction seems too light for me. All titles won during the times they fudged their numbers should be stripped, and they should be relegated at least twice.
Verdict expected Summer 2025. Can imagine that news will be received well by some people on here...
The City case has been alleging massive fraud for nearly a decade, so I think even 2025 is doing well considering that the only evidence is probably a few thousand documents.
This "huge points deduction" better be at least 1150 points taken from every single season prior or I'll join the Everton fans and riot
I’m in
They will get a point deduction so that they can survive in the PL. I expect 30 points.
I would be well up for another trip down a few leagues. Last time it was great fun at away days.
I think they’ll do like 50, because it seems like a palatable number and with their win rate, and this years bottom loss rate, they’d still be comfortably in the league but out of Europe
Man, some poor League One club is gonna get an absolute spanking in the Championship in 2026.
I hope it is/ isn’t Charlton
In b4 Northampton get absolutely railed 29-0
At the least, Manchester City should be relegated to Championship. And they should be stripped of all titles in that period.
If they don't, the point deductions should be taken back from Everton.
I would love to see the chaos of a 9 point deduction.
Or they should be relegated from the Premier league and forced to apply for entry to the football league who could reject them or allow them to join division 2. Decisions for the rest of the Premier league, do 3 teams still go down, or does man city occupy one of the relegation spots. Also does the Premier league replace them or go forward with 19 teams instead, all valid options.
Or not face a points reduction, not get a fine and carry on as they were, following the rules and fighting the spurious claims made by the vindictive FA.
Did I get that right Mr Mansour?
Daily mail lol
have a better chance of seeing us win the league than city get docked even a single point
Well I guess Pep is going to leave, just like he said he would if it was discovered Man city were cheating.
The eyes of the footballing world will be on this. The Premier League better not fuck this up and effectively legitimise financial doping after FFP rules were introduced.
Not a loaded headline whatsoever
Deadpool is gonna love playing against Haaland in 2026
No titles, relegation to Bolivia's football league.
Just relegate them and remove their titles that they cheated for. They can keep their plastic treble
I’ve not really followed this case but realisticly does anybody know what they may actually face, compared to Everton. Is a huge point deduction of several wins on the cards or a title or two?
Point deduction????? They need to be fucking expelled from the PL and have their titles stripped away!
I don't know much about this case but why is everyone so sure that they are guilty?
Is it possible that someone with 115 charges is innocent? Yes. Is it likely? Absolutely not.
How many points would it take to put them in a real relegation scrap? It would need to be about 60 wouldn’t it? If they get say 30 or 40 they’ll come mid table then just carry on as before.
Screw the points deduction. Strip them of the trophies illegally won.
Points reduction on previous seasons would be interesting.
Man utd want their trophy
And then when they get their points deduction they re enter the room with the other corrupt five clubs and they discuss how the 1 million fine for the actual worst thing to the game, maybe should be more too….or does that upset too many spoilt protected fans
Unless their titles/trophies are stripped, no punishment means anything. Who cares if they’re relegated? They’ll be back, top 4 following season…
Can’t wait to pocket Haaland in Sunday league
The reactions when this doesn’t go the way people are frothing at the mouth for it to go will be absolutely fucking legendary 😂
Better not just be a points deduction. This is such a farce.
They should be relegated at a minimum. Two divisions if we are serious about these rules. But really, they will get a 15-point deduction, still get CL next year, and the farce continues. The PL have to do something that is worse than Everton just so people don't start poking around looking for the bribe money, but not too bad that it costs them future bribe money. Fine line. 15 points leave everyone involved happy.
ManCity have put in so much $$$$ since 2010 that I don't see anything can happen to them. All this is for show
"We have cleared Man City of all 115 charges. The massive pile of money behind me? None of your business."
Year 3023*
I guarantee they will receive at most a punishment that people will not think is enough to match the breaches but not so outrageous that would risk mass protests from fan groups. Or, it's entirely possible they use a media campaign and lawyers to sweep it under the rug completely and our extremely short attention spans will move on to something else. With all the corruption going on in the world, I cannot see them getting an adequate punishment.
Just shows how stupid Evertons lawyers are, whymdint then choose to wait until 25 to get their sanction. Man City are just smarter.
Scenes when they get a 25 point deduction and win the league that season anyway
