The Palestinian Red Crescent said Friday that more than three days had passed since it heard from an ambulance team [. . .] after they were fired on by an Israeli tank.

Gee, I wonder why they “vanished”??

I thought the exonerative tense in news reports couldn’t get more outrageous than it is with cops, but here we are.
