I would. Our relationship with France right now is not great. We even refused the aid they sent after the eartquake
Why?
Because if we weren't the Big Bad Evil any more, they couldn't conveniently finger us as the root of all problems any time something remotely embarrassing for the party in power happens.
(Note: Colonialism is evil, and we definitely deserve a good heaping of blame. That being said, Morocco (and Algeria and Tunisia) have stretched the "It's all France's fault" to hide and distract from their internal corruption waay beyond France's (actual, existing) faults.)
