No mention of the 10th or 11th generation cpus which is surprising because I own both and they are great for my gaming needs on lga 1200. Keep in mind that you don't always need the newest or upgraded generation to enjoy your hobby on a certain budget that you are comfortable with when playing on low, medium and ultra settings for gaming.

Couldn't agree more. I upgraded my FX6300 to an i7 7700 and can now play all the games I actually desire to play on the highest settings. I feel like modern hardware left most people in a weird dream world where only the shiny new halo products actually have a place to exist. Low spec gaming feels way more grounded in this sense, because the people specifically get the stuff they need without overbuying, just like almost all other tech niches do.
