I have both a Steam Deck and a ROG Ally, and bought one of these to try it out to see if it could replace the Ally for me.

Not a chance. It's too big, the button placements feel bad, the sticks feel terrible (too slippery, with huge dead zones) the fan is very noisy even when not gaming, and the lack of VRR on the screen legitimately hurts it. Everything looks so juddery.

I recommend a Steam Deck OLED to most people, or an Ally for people that want the extra power and play plugged in most of the time like I do (in bed, when traveling and bored in my hotel room at night, etc)
