I tried to needle-felt a picture of my cat once. It was an absolute disaster, truly the worst thing I’ve ever made - and I’ve made a lot of subpar crafty things. You nailed it in comparison!

Needle-felting is mad difficult, you never know if you end up with something cute or something deeply disturbing! Crochet is a bit more forgiving (just looks silly when bad).
