I have yet to go one of the big hamfests. I went to the Rochester one a while ago and it was quite impressive. It's no longer add big.

I get good deals at the local ones, though, and that keeps me happy.

Rochester was amazing in the late 80s. It was like our own Dayton in the Northeast. As a teenager I came home with a pile of great equipment for not a lot of money. I think now it's a small affair at a fire company?

Xenia just doesn't have the same vibe as Hara Arena did. Hara was a dump but you could sense the history and the legacy. Xenia feels like a farm show. But you should make the pilgrimage at least once....

I got my HTX-202 at Rochester. I also remember seeing the first round of presentations on this wacky voice over IP project called Echolink.

I actually took notes.
