I’m not a Colts guy - what are the issues?
All stems from him wanting to get a contract extension done before season started instead of playing the last year on his rookie deal. Sounds like there was some animosity between him and Colts ownership which resulted in him requesting a trade. Ownership said no way we are trading him so now at a stalemate similar to the Leveon Bell situation a few years back.
Not surprising to see him dip out of camp while this gets worked out.
It worked out so well for Bell, I see why others would want to emulate it…
/s, because Bell recently went on record saying it was a giant mistake and apologized to fans.
I mean yeah he said he regrets it, but frankly he probably made more money overall by sitting out. He got his high guarantees which is what he wanted. I could see Taylor doing the same.
For real. I do feel for the RBs though, they used to get top dollar but with the offensive changes of the last few years it's shown RBBC is a valid strategy if you have an above average line. Draft rookie RB and run them through those deals and let someone else overpay for the slowdown/injury years.
