This is my first post on lemmy so bear with me. Last week someone associated with the US govt floated the idea of kicking Canada out of the Five Eyes network. A week later… would you look at that. Thoughtless and unwarranted actions have consequences.

no country should share intelligence with the US considering sharing intelligence with the US under trump is just handing it directly to putin

@cupcakezealot @CircaV Except for impending terrorist attacks. Otherwise I agree.

Why should one of the eyes (Canada) help the country trying to annex it through economic means?

[–] [email protected] -3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

@NotSteve_ Because someone blowing himself up at a daycare is evil

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

So is annexing/crippling your ally or cutting off all aid to Ukraine (including intelligence)

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

@NotSteve_ I agree. I Just dont think letting baby's die is the correct answer. I mean fuck the fucking fucks. But that does not include the little ones.

Yeah, that’s fair. Admittedly I think the US ~~would~~ has even warned Russia of impending terrorist attacks (before the US and Russia became good friends)

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The US has informed Russia of suspected upcoming terrorist attacks, under a “duty to warn” policy. Iran, too. Whether that information was sufficient or useful, we have only the State Department’s word, but it is still worth noting.

Yeah, I actually meant to write has instead of would. I was actually thinking of the concert hall attack when writing my comment

@NotSteve_ Well thr US infact did do that. Remember that big ISIS attack on a moscow concert hall about a year ago?

Edit: seems like a lifetime ago

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

Oops, I wrote “would” but I actually meant to write “has”. The concert hall attack was exactly what I had in mind writing my comment
