Resist: It's Time

We are still in this together, but "this" is going to be real different in the very near future. This demands a different kind of "we."

The French Resistance during Nazi occupation played important roles delivering downed Allied airmen back to safety, supplying military intelligence, and acts of sabotage.

The Underground Railroad is estimated to have brought 100,000 freedom seekers to safety between 1810 and 1850.

It's time.

Faced with intensifying repression and state violence, there is an understandable inclination to seek safety by avoiding confrontation. But this is not always the most effective strategy.

  • Large black sweatpants (no logos)
  • Large black hoodie (no logos)
  • Boots (these don't need to be black, you'll want them to appear "civilian")
  • Jersey gloves
  • Black balaclava (one of the thin "helmet sock" ones)
  • Pepper spray
  • Backpack or drawstring bag

Buy as many of these from thrift stores as possible. Cut the cuffs off of the sweatpant legs. Practice putting on and taking off this gear over your street clothes, in and out of whatever bag you're toting.

This is something you can do right now to be ready to act when the need arises.

Why do you cut the sweatpant cuffs off?

Easier to take off quickly, don't want to be the person caught stumbling with the cuff hooked on your ankles.

And put back on over the boots
