Same way you quit smoking: cold turkey.
Yeah, it's unpleasant. But it's the method that's the most effective.
It's been over a decade since I had a cigarette.
That's what I did, kinda realized it was a stupid habit that wasn't benefiting me in any way, and just stopped. First two weeks were tough but I haven't been tempted to buy another since.
I gotta say, I still love the smell of cigarettes and cigars. If it wasn't 1) expensive, and 2) was going to kill me, I'd probably still be a smoker. It's not hard to resist after all this time, but I still miss it slightly. Kinda like one of my exes. Who also would have ended up killing me. :)
