Had no idea this was a thing to be honest.

Edit: bit tone deaf but can see the value in the changes.

How are we feeling about the update to the app (for those that use it)?

Its been a week and I’m still getting used to it.

I consistently have a lack of anaerobic load in my Garmin training load. I did a track run today trying to work on intense intervals. I was hoping to get to the end and have more anaerobic effect than aerobic. Is there something I should be doing differently in my runs? I was under the impression that the rest phase between run intervals should allow you to really catch your breath, so I often walk for a few seconds before getting back into a jog in my rest interval.

Should I be more focused on keeping my pace up during the rest interval? Should I be running fewer/more intervals? Should I ignore these stats and just enjoy the run?

Just a general thread about running. How's your running going? What are you training for? Did you get new shoes? Sporting an injury etc..

I've read cotton absorbs sweat, whereas polyester repels it, so if I run I should get polyester underwear.

Is the difference very noticeable?

This is to wear with my leggings, because if I go commando my male bits turn to one side.

do you also notice differences if you use ½ lengths or compression shorts?

I hate wearing sports bras when I'm running because of the tightness around my chest. I'm starting to get used to running without a bra, but what I'm having trouble with is understanding what the long term impacts are?

The internet tells me it's fine, and but it also says that it's a bad idea, which is entirely unhelpful!

Has anyone had experience running without a bra and if so, how did you find it (assuming you have boobs)?

I have been working on my 5k time, and today I ran at near race intensity to see where i was at. My watch has been estimating my 5k time to be around 31 minutes. Well today I ran it under 28. I go see what it had to say about this, and it drops its estimation to 30:30. "Ok bruh, I see what you're about now.", I say to it.

Anyways I am interpreting this as a reminder that my watch doesn't replace a real coach, and I need to put more thought into my training.

be patient, because I don't know what the right word is: I mean the visible fabric of some summer leggings where everybody clearly sees that the fabric is porous in some parts, so humidity and heat escapes.

Absolute noob here regarding leggings, Im thinking about returning my asics winter leggings due to this, unless you tell me this is a stupid idea and Im gonna need al the heat I can save during cold weather and winter.

Im a male trying on several black leggings for running, stretching and cycling, I've never bought anything so tight. Im skinny built and have tried new balance, asics and adidas. My questions:

I've read some more expensive leggings have not a single, but double seam at the front side (crotch), whereas most simple leggings for men and women have just one seam in the middle. Should I return the leggings I bought and buy only the ones that have 2 seams at the front to better accommodate my manhood bits? I’ve also seen that expensive adidas leggings have just one seam at the front so, maybe I’m overthinking this?

Im not going commando or wearing sport shorts over the leggings because it doesn't have any purpose, except to drag you down when running, and look unflattering, even my boxer shorts make it look a big silly, because people notice them on my leggings, so I’m thinking about buying a thong, but I don’t know what brand to look for, if cotton would be better than polyester or if I should buy a V string or a G string.

The adidas I bought are cross high waist and are for women, however, I don’t see why I shouldn’t buy them: they sit good and aren’t too tight on the waist (seller told me leggings for women are wider on the thigh and smaller on the waist, but to me they look and sit good and the knit is softer than the other ones I bought, I like them. Am I going to regret keeping them?

Any other tips you have, welcomed.

I'm a big fan of the NRC guided runs, and have been using them for a few years now. However, I've hurt my knee, so I am switching to cycling indoors to stay active.

I really like the guided runs because it adds a huge variety to my workouts, and I get to learn about running and learn about my body while staying active. I like something similar with cycling workouts. Does anybody know of anything?

[email protected] is running, writing, and photographing his weekly half marathons around Portugal and Spain. The photos are lovely; the routes and descriptions make me want to hop on a plane to Lisbon.

Worldwide #March150 Challenge (www.breakingimpossible.com)

From Chris Toepker

Worldwide #March150 - let's Break Impossible, together

Living at 60 degrees north, the March increase in sunlight is a big deal. We'll get a renewed ~150 minutes, stretching just 9.5 hours of daylight to 12. In just a few weeks!

To match this march of time, and to celebrate the sunny increase, I'm determined to run 150 miles (~240kms) between March 1 and 31. Maybe you'd like to do something similar? Try 150kms (~93 miles)? Or 150 minutes in the gym? Or, if you're like Michael, breaking 150 boards in your martial arts practice?

Of course, the increase in daylight is for those of us in the northern hemisphere. If you're waving goodbye to that daylight across the global south, #March150 is still for you!

Who's with me?!

Obviously not that great in comparison, but I've managed to keep running 3 times a week since September last year. I'm pretty happy with this I've gotta say. Started running for weight loss and heart health. Haven't lost any weight - I'm still ~120kg post COVID - but my heart health has improved a lot.

Side note - if I was to compete against the 4 minute mile record holder, they would beat me by almost exactly 4 minutes...haha
