A bit of a spicy one this week

Interesting interview here. Seems odd to me that he brings up the election a couple times as part of the reasoning for the move.

Always good to see backmarkers do good, even if it was just a strategy call.

Will never forgive JJ for the Mark Martin incident though.

Not gonna lie, not a fan of William Byron.

Dude just seems to back into wins. Nothing to back it up, but all of his wins save for Daytona a few years ago have been very "ho-hum."

Awesome job guys! It feels like this community gains 10 people or so every few days.

As we are now at triple digits, we probably need to start working out rules and such for our sidebar.

So, my question is: what should our rules be? Further, what else should be in our sidebar? Schedules? Prn/mrn? Jayski, etc?

This isn't my community. This is your community and I want it to be user driven. As such, I want you guys to help me create something amazing!

Thanks guys. Keep posting and commenting. I'm positive that we will be able to have a unique and fun nascar community here in no time.

Glad to see Spire getting some decent sponsorship.

Makes me low-key wonder if Andretti is looking at buying out Spire.

(Also I think this is the 1st rumor on the lemmy nascar community, lol)

Man that was a spectacular finish. Really cool to see someone from another discipline win in the 91.

Also goes to show the direction Next Gen has taken the feel of the cars that a super car racer could come in and win. (Nice strategy as well with the newer tires.)

As a disclaimer, I am a first time NASCAR viewer as I am normally a fan of F1 and WEC.

I think it’s unfortunate that the poor weather is going to doom this event's reception. I purchased a reserved seat ticket for the weekend (~$460 after tax) and intended to essentially be there for its entirety, and that’s what I did yesterday starting with first practice until we had to evacuate due to a nearby thunderstorm, nearly 8 hours on site!

I’m sad to see all of the hate and vitriol thats getting thrown at the event organizers on twitter, obviously those who are most frustrated are likely to vent and twitter is twitter, but I think the public perception is going to really tank any future chances of this happening again, not that the perception was high before it happened either.

I personally did enjoy what I got though! The deep rumble in my body when the xfinity cars went past was really special. Weather is always a natural enemy of any festival, and safety with all the trees and metal around on the course I think is understandable. As for going to the cup race coming up, the rain has largely stopped but I’m not sure I want to tread through the flooded park to get to my grandstand. Sunk cost perhaps?

Anyhow, as a Chicagoan first timer, rock on.

Since we don’t have one…

It’s raining hard.

This is my first ever event, couldn’t pass up such a close local race regardless if it succeeds or not!

I'd love to see it. Skip trucks and go to xfinity though. Hopefully he can show some speed!

I vaguely remember reading about Soldier Field. Pretty good read overall though!

Nice to see Noah will be back on track this weekend! Guy took a pretty nasty lick, and his post care-center interview he looked pretty dazed. Glad he's back!

"I'm not interested in some kid's father coming in and buying their way into the Cup Series. I have zero interest in that." Per Jeff Gluck.

Gotta give it to Tony... Friggin love this response!! Haha
