I used to see 5-6 games every weekend a few years ago, now I see 1 or 2 at most and it's not only because of the lack of quality football, either refs don't know what they're doing or there's a huge matchfixing scandal we still don't know about.

There is nothing wrong with the quality of football, La Liga is currently quite comfortably ahead of Serie A in goals per game despite everyone wanking over the brilliant football being played over there. And even besides banal statistics like that the tactical and technical level is extremely high. I genuinely don't think the league has ever been better from top to bottom if we are not only looking at the top teams

The refereeing I fully agree with though, they actively have made games worse for years now by blowing their whistle constantly and stopping play. It feels like games are more free flowing this season though but I have no idea if that is the refs letting more go or the teams are simply playing better football in spite of the officiating
