Has anyone had much luck keeping temps low with this config?

With my IS-55 cooler + 25mm Noctua fan, I have about 53-55mm of GPU width. The only 4070Ti Supers at that size for me are the Gigabyte windforce / eagle and the MSI slim, both of which are flow through.

I’ve read about undervolting, using PSU standoffs, flipping the PSU orientation (which seems unideal) and using both top and bottom exhaust fans to expel warm air from the GPU.

Looking forward to hearing any advice from people here

Edit: 7800x3D cpu

Hey guys. I am looking forward to build a system that is pretty much silent and very quiet under load. I made this parts list, hoping to achieve that with this build.

Is there anything you guys would change or am I good to go?

Hi everyone!

I was looking to downsize my NR200 to a FormD T1 Sandwich kit and I couldn't figure out how many case fans I can fit in it with the info available online.

I've got a 5800X3D + Noctua's 37mm cooler, a 4070 FE, Fractal ION Gold SFX-L 650W, and a SATA SSD (I've also got an HDD but I'm willing to part with both if I can get a good deal on a 4TB M.2).

I'm planning on getting Noctua fans for the whole "buy once don't worry later" schtick, so I wanted to know how many to buy.

Could anyone help me out here?

Good day fellow SSF Builders,

I would like to show you my latest project, I called it Brq Zero: Spark.

for more pictures check out the link at the end

I will keep it short, the case is made from Acrylic and 3D Printed parts, it took me probably around 100 Hours to design it in Fusion360, the whole process of designing, prototyping, and fabricating all the parts started in September 2023, and I am proud of what I achieved :)

My motivation came from many other case designers, I wanted to challenge myself and be like them, so thanks to rosinbole who designed the blackbird build, this was my very first inspiration to build something as small. and I cannot forget Josh from NFC and of course Alex from Bit-tech

This particular build is for me to carry around when I need to go scan something with my 3D scanner, it made sense to make this instead of buying a very expensive laptop since I will always have to plug a laptop to the wall if I need the performance, with a desktop the difference is always noticeable.

I do not have exact figures of the thermals, but at the moment it is rocking an i9-13900K, 96GB of DDR5 RAM, RTX 4060 Low Profile, and HDPlex 500W PSU. I tried a bit of 3DMARK benchmarking and the CPU temps didn't go above 80c while GPU hovered around 63c.

I hope you like the design :)

let me know if you have any questions, but I will be mainly updating the build over at builds.gg if you are interested in updates, this won't be the last version for sure.

Please upvote and share if you like what you see <3

Hi, I have been struggling to find a not super expensive Flex ATX PSU for my desk 1U keyboard tray build - however, I have found a server PSU w/ a breakout board of 12*PCIE 6Pins giving only 12V.

I am currently prototyping this build w/ a X58 rig, power consumption should be mostly CPU&GPU related.

AFAIK CPU EPS 8pin has consists only of 12V-ground pairs, thus I could power the CPU directly from the PSU. Would it work? Thanks!

Hey everyone, I'd like to share my experience and some pictures of the NR200P Max. I'm completely new to this! After more than 20 years primarily working on Mac, I wanted a compact PC for 3D rendering, starting with CPU rendering and then moving on to GPU once I decide which one to buy.

I opted for the NR200P Max case as it's known to be easier to build compared to other SFF cases. The experience is both fun and a bit nerve-wracking, to say the least, but I think it's worth it.

Here are the specs:

  • CASE: Cooler Master MasterBox NR200P Max
  • MOBO: ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-I GAMING WIFI
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X
  • RAM: CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 RAM 96GB (2x48GB) 6400MHz CL32
  • Storage: Samsung 990 PRO 2TB
  • GPU: For now, I decided to keep my trusty SAPPHIRE RX580 NITRO+ 8GB that I've been using in an old Mac Pro 5,1 (considering RTX 4080 Super once it's released).
  • BOTTOM FANS: 2 x Noctua NF-A12x15 PWM chromax.black.swap (used as intake)

And here are some issues I encountered as a newbie:

  • On my first attempt, after everything was mounted, it didn't turn on because the front panel cable was mispositioned on the motherboard.
  • Once fixed, the RX580 wouldn't boot and gave me a black screen. I resolved this issue by using the HDMI port on the mobo to access the BIOS. I then updated it with the latest drivers (via USB key), installed Win11, bypassed Wi-Fi requirements as it wasn't working yet, installed all Asus drivers to enable Wi-Fi, and finally installed RX580 drivers.
  • Now I can boot from the RX580, but there's a persistent VGA white light on the mobo. Not sure if it's normal as the card runs okay. Wondering if the PCIe Riser cable is the culprit... I read somewhere that the white light is a GPU error and that riser cables might introduce issues.
  • Another issue I experienced twice: the PC not waking up from sleep mode with either the mouse or keyboard.

Overall, I'm really happy with my new PC! Coming from the Apple ecosystem, all the trial and error is something new for me, but I'm impressed with the performance so far!

The CPU runs hot at full load in Cinebench and Coronabench (some peaks at 95°C or even 98°C). Not sure if switching the bottom fans to exhaust would improve anything during rendering. I'll give it a try. I might also experiment with undervolting the CPU; according to reviews it would generate a minor loss in performance versus a significant difference in temperature and power usage.

My NR200P Max Build

Bottom fans as intake. I'm also using the vented panel.

Hello there.

I need some help with this. Im looking for 3rd party Riser Cables for this case, but I need the same type of Riser as the one XTIA's have in their website.

What brands or models should I consider?

Anyone in here have an Xproto ATX v2 with a 3rd party Riser that could pinpoint me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance for your time and help.

I'm thinking of using the Artic Freezer ii 360 AIO however the compatibility list says my Motherboard, Asus Rog Strix B760-i isn't supported. However, there are other boards on this list where people have used it and worked fine. Does anyone have this combination and does it work Please let me know. Thanks.

Hi guys, I am planning a build for a living room gaming pc. I am looking at the velka 5/7 since I want to be able to move it between my room and the living room with relative ease.

The question is: is there any way to make the gpu IO ports go on the back? In previous revisions there was the possibility to have internal cables that routed gpu ports to the back. The problem is that I cannot find them on their website anymore. I really don't like the IO to be on the top or bottom of the case. Is there any way to acheive this in their Rev 3 cases?

Thanks

I would really like to build a rig in the Fractal Terra, but I can't justify anoter PC for the missus. So I would dismantle my current build and put it into the Terra. However, I am concerned because it has very limited cooling options. Would it be enough to cool a 7800X3D properly?

I’m thinking of getting the Galax GeForce RTX 4070 Ti EX Gamer 1-Click OC V2, which has a length of 336mm. However, the maximum length of 338mm is with the GPU slightly underneath the PSU, however the PSU length used for this measurement isn’t specified. I have a 160mm PSU so I am unsure if it would fit. If anyone also has experience with a long gpu in this case, please let me know. Thanks.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15vHr1QJYUM Temperatures at the end of the video.

That's definitely should be my next GPU.

But guys, be careful when installing GPU with such TDP in the smallest sandwich-layout cases - I won’t risk putting this card in my beloved ZS A4S. For this cooling system design, a console-layout like aluminum edition of this case is better suited. Second fan will be pushing hot air directly outside of the case.

Machine-God, bless Inno3d!

I have the opportunity to get my hands on an Asus 4090 TUF (this one specifically), but was curious if the dimensions fit into a NR200. There's another Asus 4090 TUF, but it's bigger and don't really know what the difference is.

According to this post, the PNY XLR8 4090 fits just snug into the NR200. The Asus 4090 is slightly smaller, but a few millimeters taller (height wise).

Does anyone own the Asus GPU I linked, and does it fit well? I plan on using a mesh panel, but will probably get an adapter/open side panel if the 12-pin Asus adapter feels like it's too pressured.

Hi, I am in the states and looking to acquire a alpenfohn black ridge cooler. Has anyone purchased from this merchant before?

Looking to mount this on a Asrock B650i lightning. From other posts here, it seems a TG short backplate could make the black ridge compatible with AM5. Suggestions on how I could verify this before pulling the trigger?

Thanks.

Hey, posted the other day about the IQUNIX ZX-1 case and so I decide to build a pc with pcpartpicker using the same parts as the Devyn Johnson video in which he did an all white build. Just want to know if there is anything I can improve on or add/get rid of to make it better. If this case is bad I did look at the CoolerMaster NR200p which looks really good in pink and would look great with all white parts though I haven't checked if it could fit all the same parts as below. This would also be my first PC so I hope I know what im doing haha.

I want to move my rig into a smaller case. The A4 H20 looks like the best option for me but it's hella expensive on Amazon. Is there anything else like the A4 H20?
