I’ve tried making a reaction video with very short clips like people on YouTube do all the time. Did it without getting a warning about copyright after uploading but then I get a message saying Netflix won’t let me upload because of copyright grounds. Do I need to download it off of Netflix or something?

I'm going to start playing elden ring on my PC but I want to have cloud save for my steam deck, the question is basically the title. In the folder the checksum of the installer matches the one directly from IL, everything else is fine.

Hi Everybody,

I am new to piracy and my tech skills are basic. With the current global political climate and BS of not owning the media, I pay for I just want my own copies of the media I enjoy. I am looking for some advice/ encouragement that I will wrap my head around all this new information. For context about my current ability I use standard windows/ android phones without issues and when gaming, I have downloaded CC and Mods using youtube tutorials.

So far I have been direct downloading from Oceans of PDF without issues and have downloaded Calibre to organise my books.

I want to get into torrenting to get Audiobooks/ textbook/ Movies/TV etc. My understanding that to do this relatively safely I will need:

• an Ad Blocker
• a VPN
• and antiviral software
• torrent software

to be extra safe I'd ideally be using a second computer without personal information on it and running a Linux system? or is that overkill?

over the last few days, I have definitely fallen down the rabbit hole of owning my digital media/ Opensoures/ right to repair/ lack of privacy.

If this is just an incomprehensible mess of words that makes no sense I apologise, this is the best my brain could do currently.

Hello everyone,

I don’t know if this is the correct subreddit for my problem, especially because it’s related to Germany but I’ll try.

I’ve been downloading games, programs, movies, etc. from relevant sites regularly for at least 12 years. I have honestly never used a VPN and have never been caught either. I live in Germany btw. Yesterday, my father received a warning letter for a game called Tropico 6 by Kalypso Media group GmbH. I haven’t heard of this game or downloaded it. My brother doesn’t know this game either. The letter appears to be from a legitimate law firm named Nimrod, and it also mentioned the time of the offense and my IP address. I searched my entire computer, history, etc., and couldn’t find anything remotely related. According to Google and Reddit, several people have the same problem, receiving a letter even though they haven’t downloaded this game.

My questions would be: what are my options now? Paying is definitely out of the question. And how can it be that I’m being accused of this when I 100% did not download the game? Has anyone here had similar experiences?

Alright, blast of nostalgia from the past :)

So I want to remove the DRM from BIN+CUE images of late 1990s CD games, as there are no No-CD cracks I've found for most versions of what I'm looking for. I already know how to play a copy-protected EXE by using a batch file that mounts an image and then runs the game, but I want to save additionally on space (and on time, even if it's a little, but it adds up over time) by forgoing the use of mounted images altogether, yet I haven't been able to find decryption mechanisms when using various older programs to write a new CD image. I may be wrong, but they seem to rely on the user having an actual CD reader/writer present on the PC, which it's not, given how modern mine is. I want the same for games released at that time and in the 2000s on DVDs. Is there a way to do that?

Also, could it happen that official patches released later for those games may fail to execute or would restore the copy protection mechanism once applied to the game install folder?

Over the years my family and I have all bought one streaming service each and shared the rest. As of today now all our streaming like Disney+ and Netflix no longer are allowing to share. I have not used a VPN on my Mac ever, but would getting vpn solve this problem? Do I need to set it up a certain way?

I know to get one with port forwarding which I think Proton seems the best one from reading this subreddit. Anything else I should get? I am in Australia in case that makes a difference.

I hate commercials and this is one reason why I sail the high seas. There are shows on vizio, tubo etc that I would like to watch, but do not want to sit through commercials. These series would be difficult to find on the high seas. Is there a DVR that you can use with streaming services? Live sports are moving to streaming, and it sucks not being able to record and watch latter.

If not, do you think this is a thing that will happen in the future. Live sports seem to be moving to streaming platforms.

Recently been trying to find episodes of Apple's "See" with no luck. Even tried getting them from Stremio and there's just nothing available. I get that it's much easier to get something that came out more recently like Sonic 3 and Shogun rather than something that came out many years earlier like Clue or Season 1 of Power Rangers. Still, I wish there are easier ways to get older stuff. Any help is appreciated.

Hello, I'm new to torrenting and I'm trying to bind my tor client ( biglybt) to my vpn (surfshark) on my android. I am at the part where I need to find my IP address or interface name. As I understand it the IP address changes every so often with a vpn so I shouldn't use that...right? I am trying to find my interface name for my vpn but I just don't see it or know where it would be listed.

I'm also wondering how to turn off auto seeding in biglybt. I don't understand most of the setting.

is there a better torrenting client I can use? Maybe something simpler.

type dir, if it still just says libre... repeat, "cd libre (tab)"

dir again, if now it has a buncha files continue

it will ask you to open spotify and change the playback device to speaker

in the libre folder you will get a credentials json, open it in notepad

either ask chatgpt or do it yourself and make it look like this (literally, it might say auth_type or something, we dont care we just need the data after that and then to format it after this)
