Hey guys, I want to overclock my cpu to 5.5 or 5.6ghz (13600kf) i found some guides, but when i followed one, OC wasn't stable and it was all kinda meh. So can someone tell me what settings in bios i have to adjust? (if some) except for ghz and voltage of course. Thanks a lot, and if its dumb question i'm sorry i have never OCed CPU yet.

If it helps i have

Asrock Z790 PG riptide

AK620 cooler

7200mhz ddr5 cl34 RAM

And latest bios

I have an 15-13600kf on an ASUS Prime B760-P D4 motherboard with an Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280 cooler.

I undervolted it because I prefer cooler processor temperatures. However, I'm curious: is it normal to undervolt by -0.21V? I noticed the average clock speed of all cores decreased from 4.6 GHz to 4.42 GHz, prompting me to adjust it to -0.19V.

Running a Cinebench test and stress tests for an hour, I recorded a max temperature of 70°C and 155W peak wattage. The Cinebench scores ranged between 22,000-23,500 both pre and post-undervolting. So, is such an undervolting normal?

Also, can I overclock it on my Asus Prime B760-P D4?

My 5800x3d has been working fine, performance is good but (i dont know if its average, above or below but ive had no problems thus far), however mine seems to run at a strange clock speed, usually hovering around 2600mhz while gaming, ive tried PBO2 tuner to undervolt and increase clocks, but at a -20 all core, no difference at all.

Base clocks-

Clocks with undervolt-

The really confusing part is that its pulling 122 watts at this clock speed, not sure if its just running a weirdly high voltage, or if i messed something up in BIOS by accident, i am using msi gameboost (mobo is an MSI gaming plus max x470).

Any help would be appreciated.

Motherboard: MAG X570S TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI

CPU: Ryzen 5800X

Ram: 2x 16GB CT16G4DFD824A.C16FE = 32GB

When following this guide, I came across this:

Load BIOS default settings, set your XMP profile only and restart Windows.

The only place where I could find the option to set/enable a XMP profile was on the top left side of the screen, but both XMP-A options were greyed out and did did nothing when clicked. I already loaded default settings, so the ''Memory Try it!'' option is disabled.

Am I missing something? Could it be the ram seating position? (sorry if this sounds stupid or anything, i'm pretty new to overclocking)

have a 13900k runming with a Corsair Capelix 420mm AIO. (Got the latter on amazon). It hit 100°C temps in cinebench after around 30 to 40 seconds. I have ruled out any kind of 'not enough airflow' 'problem, I have even bought a thermalgrizzly contach frame but i still get 45C idle. I have had to undervolt to 90V to stop the fans from going crazy when gaming. At this point my guess is i just got a bad CPU/AIO? The aio liquid also hits aroud 50C when gaming, so this combined with the plate i got seems to rule out any contact problem. I just don t really know what to do. Did i get a bad cooler/chip? It doesn t look like i can claim any warranty and go "it just runs too hot"... I don t really know what to do here, open to any advice.

So, I've found my optimal undervolt value via XTU, and now I'm transferring those values to the BIOS (Z790 Tomahawk).

Thing is, under CPU core voltage offset mode (which I've read is the best mode for this), I can choose between "- by CPU" and "- by PWD". What's the difference?

Also, do I need to apply the same value from CPU core voltage offset to CPU GT voltage offset, or do I leave that on auto?

I need some clarification on naming as I can't coorelate them between my Asus bios & HWinfo readings. Can you confirm?

| Voltage | Asus BIOS | HWinfo | |

|

|

| | VDD2 (IMC) | Memory controller voltage | ??????? | | SA or VCCSA | CPU system agent voltage | SA VID | | VDDQ_TX | IVR Transmitter Voltage | VDDQ TX Voltage | | DRAM VDDD | DRAM VDD | VDD voltage | | DRAM VDDQ | DRAM VDDQ voltage | VDDQ (SWB) Voltage |

Does SA VID and VDDQ TX voltages should be the same?

I am on am5 and have Hynix ram. I used a memory try it from msi and I now have them at cl30 6000. I don't care much about going higher or reducing timings that much I just want to know how those parameteres work and see where I can go by myself. Thx

As a surprise to no one, overclocking did actually give me more FPS. I did 3 tests in Forza Horizon 5 and got +10 FPS by going from 2400 MHz to 2933 MHz. I can't overclock my CPU because my motherboard sucks and crashes immediately, but overclock your RAM guys!

Not really sure what to think of these sticks (TeamGroup T-Create CTCCD532G5600HC46DC01). I feel like I should be able to clock these higher, but I inevitably fail stability testing above 6200 at 1.45 V VDD. My 7200 Corsair kit can run stable with the CPU VDDQ, IMC, and SA voltages used here (1.3 V, 1.35 V, 1.25V) at 6600, and can do non-reboot stable 7200 with 1.4 V, 1.4 V, and 1.3 V. I probably need to see if lower CPU VDDQ (~1.25 V) helps?

tRCD can probably drop 2 ticks, but my fan wasn't mounted properly when I tested for stability at 38, so I think it failed due to temperatures, but I never bothered to retest.

Heat spreaders removed and 120 mm fan directly on top. Temps under full stress test load max out at 42.6 C on the hotter stick. Maybe indicates potential for higher VDD? DRAM VDDQ didn't like being at 1.45 V so again, I'm not sure what to make of this.

Tertiaries are all even numbers for no reason other than I like how it looks, and for some reason, tWRWR_dg at 7 led to worse AIDA64 bandwidth.

Recently I bought an RX 7600 GPU with which I did some tests to get the most performance / fps out of it. I soon found out that minimum voltage in relation to a lower frequency is therefore more important for a gain in performance / fps.

Assuming a mechanical cooler on the GPU

Setting all GPU frequency & voltage to the highest is therefore of no use, except for the GPU memory frequency & power limit (%). The GPU eventually overheats and balances at lower frequencies resulting in lower FPS.

Highest possible settings for RX 7600 in AMD Software Adrenalin Edition:

(Not recommended)

GPU Max. Frequency (MHZ): 3000

Voltage (mv): 1200

VRAM Tuning Max. Frequency (MHZ): 2400

Energy limit (%): 12

After my own test in 3DMark, Superposition Benchmark, I achieved the highest possible performance with my RX 7600 at the following settings:

GPU Max. Frequency (MHZ): 2841

Voltage (mv): 1135

VRAM Tuning Max. Frequency (MHZ): 2400

Energy limit (%): 12

All applied settings are stable and extensively tested.

This is quite a large undervolt and a decrease to 2841 MHZ compared to the die hard of 3000 MHZ of course. (for my standard overclocked RX 7600 from Gigabyte)

Note: 2841 MHZ is the sweetspot for my card in combination with this minimum voltage. Most of the time it will be in de 2750's and 2800's which is very important for the most fps gain.

3DMARK TIME SPY Graphics Score: 11489

3DMARK TIME SPY EXTREME Graphics Score: 5489

3DMARK SPEED WAY Graphics Score: 2128

3DMARK PORT ROYAL Graphics Score: 5765

Superposition (1080P MEDIUM) Score: 20435

Superposition (1080P EXTREME) Score: 6791

Since I saw an improvement and having fun with this underclocking test,i thought maybe this would be fun for someone to try out and compare the results.

My system:

AMD Ryzen 5 5600G

So ive got a 7800x3d, was having high temp issues, so i switched my ID cooling AIO for a EK nucleus, but still got high temps.. 80c-88c while gaming, just depends on the game, and that is with PBO curve -30 Now if i limit my watts to 76w along with -45 and -40 on my perfered cores, itll stay under 80c, but barely... what am i doing wrong here?

Hello, guys !

I've just finished building my rig with the 5600 non X.Board is Asus ROG Strix b550-f gaming wifi2 and RAM is 4x8 TridentZ Neo CL16 3600, watercooled with Arctik Freezer II 280 AIO.

I want to get the maximum of the CPU and maintain the low temps or like get them to 70 max. Right now with Cinebench r23 on Multicore my clocks are boosting to 4450 and temp is aroind 59-60(while playing 45). All I did so far was to set in the PBO negative on all cores = 15.

Are there any settings that were tested by other guys like a template or something or should figure it out myself ? I really want to skip the tuning and start playing :)

Should I even bother to tune it or leave it as it is, cuz im more then pleased with it as it is ? I was just wondering if there is something like guide step by step with numbers and everything for the 5600... cuz I can find for 5600x(with PPT and everything) but nothing for the non x version.

I’ve got an ASUS Zenbook with an i7-8565u in it and have noticed something annoying. When I’m on my cooling pad I have 48° thermal headroom but I’m throttled by Power Limits. I’ve thought about it and I think there are 2 ways I can get it to go faster.

  1. Undervolting - If I undervolt it, it should draw less power and thus have more power available before the 15w limit and go faster
  2. Disable Powerlimits - If I disable the limit it will draw until it either hits thermal limit or the MoBo taps out

Any ideas?

(AM5, DDR5) Just found out on my memory OC journey that Linpack may be sensitive about Ryzen memory controller.

I got my sticks to run at 6200MHz, passed 10k% Karhu RAM test and passed TestMem5 with antu777 preset. Then I ran Linpack which uses memory a lot but mainly hits CPU and it failed! Fml.

No matter what timings and voltages I had, 6200 just failed Linpack every time and 6000 did not. Karhu and TestMem did not find any problems in both cases so RAM itself is ok? So maybe the memory controller sucks at 6200 under stress? CPU 7700X is stock.

Heya, was wondering if finding stable values for an undervolt/overclock on XTU and then transferring them to BIOS is a viable option.

Thanks im advance!

Hey guys, just wondering...I assume, that it's not possible but...I have Asus TUF B650-PLUS WIFI, Ryzen 9 7950X3D and 128GB DDR5 made of those kits - KF560C36BBEK2-64.

Tried to OC it by EXPO, DOCP, manually a bit, tried new BIOS for TUF, and it ends the same each time - failed to POST. It just won't boot. Even if I OC it just slightly.

Is there any chance to fix it? Or some future prognosis (mean if some BIOS update)? I mean other prognosis than pulling those 64GB out, because then, with just one 64GB, it propably would work.

Thx in advance 😊
