As a little thank you to the community, I'm giving away a bunch of soulslikes and soulslike-adjacent titles. Other people were so kind to also pitch in a couple games - lots of games to win!

I hope it's fine to post this here - let me know if it's not

Nerdcore is back (lemmy.zip)
submitted 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

Hi All,

I've moved Nerdcore from lemm.ee to [email protected] (via trusty copy and paste...) It would be awesome if you find your way over there. We got some nice nerdy lyrics on a variety of music genres.

Fun Fact: MC Frontalot coined the term “nerdcore” in the early 2000s :)

See you on [email protected]

Cheers, peet

I've just re-discovered ollama and it's come on a long way and has reduced the very difficult task of locally hosting your own LLM (and getting it running on a GPU) to simply installing a deb! It also works for Windows and Mac, so can help everyone.

I'd like to see Lemmy become useful for specific technical sub branches instead of trying to find the best existing community which can be subjective making information difficult to find, so I created [email protected] for everyone to discuss, ask questions, and help each other out with ollama!

So, please, join, subscribe and feel free to post, ask questions, post tips / projects, and help out where you can!

Thanks!

For a month and a half now I'm trying to revive [email protected]. I publish all blogposts, YouTube videos and podcasts about typewriters that appear in my RSS feed. It brings a little life, but nothing's more interesting than actual exchanges about things, instead of just link-sharing.

So if you collect, use or even if you're just curious about typewriters, join us! We'll love to answer any question you have.

Hopefully, this community would make people more resistant to clickbait titles and make journalists who use clickbait titles, too embarrassed to clickbait readers.

Otherwise, I hope it brings fun and creativity to Lemmy.

Hey fellow metalheads, it's the founder of [email protected] here! Just letting people know I recently took over [email protected], and if you are a fan of heavy metal, it would be much appreciated if you shared your taste with us, or even just came along for the ride!

(NOTE: this is not a general metal community, it is aimed specifically at traditional heavy metal and nwobhm. Please post the former at a community such as [email protected]).

Cheers!

Happy anniversary c/dailygames (3k games played)

One year ago today I created this community to have a place on Lemmy to play dailygames with likeminded people. It turned out exactly how I imagined it.

These days I usually don't have to post games myself to keep the community active, thanks to our regular daily posters. Thank you very much for posting every day and keeping the community alive and thriving!

Thank you to all the players who post their scores in the comments! This is a nice and welcoming place thanks to you. I rarely have to moderate anything, I usually only remove duplicate posts.

Thanks to lemmy.zip for hosting us!

The numbers for the first year

  • 3k games played (posts)
  • 18k scores and discussions (comments)
  • 1.8k players (subscribers)
  • 1.4k active players (users last 6 months)

To another year of dailygames and beyond. Cheers!

Come join if you're interested in monitor reviews, display tech and general Q&A discussion about computer monitors.

If you have a piefed account, you'll be able to see all the old posts and comments from the [email protected] community. Unfortunately this feature doesn't work on Lemmy.

Note: If you use a smaller instance, you might see an empty community, but that's an issue with federation (at least one person from an instance needs to be subscribed to the community for posts to federate).

The community is very much active:
