So there's this kebab place close to where I leave that never makes a receipt.

It doesn't even accept electronical payments, obviously.

My country (Italy) is going to shit thanks to people like this, so I'm thinking to report him, since I would like that Austria didn't go down that path too.

How would one proceed? Would they even check the place?

Did you check the website finanzamt.gv.at?

Also, please yes, do this. Questionable businesses need to be put right. We all carry their burden.

the kebab place around the corner is really our smallest problem concerning tax evasion ;)

Ever asked for a receipt? I never take them and so do many people I know. Might be they just don't bother with them.

Not taking electronic payments is somewhat common for smaller places, especially if not part of a franchise, it's often not worth the cost for them. That is to say, none of this would lead me to suspect tax evasion, unless they actively refuse to give a receipt.
