An abandoned community for the Philippines and all things Filipino! 🇵🇭
Started out as a Reddit alternative during the blackout from Jun 12-21, 2023 with over 1k members in just a few days. Fizzled faster than the "I Didn't Do It" kid after a month until it became the internet's Centralia in less than a year.

I did notice that there were a lot more people who mock things as "anti-poor." There were only specific people who did it before, but it seems to becoming more popular in r/ph.
Yeah it's weird. Hindi ko alam if nasa 2ph4u ako or r/PH.
For all of r/PH's annoyances and faults, it's still the place that shaped much of my present politics and personal outlook. And to see it devolve into that kind of DDS-ish circlejerking makes me wish I wasn't putting down the 2020-22 posters much, lol.
Despite his allegiance to the NPA, grandenko was one of the more articulate posters on why being pro-poor is good. His absence seems to have allowed the anti-poor people to become more popular.
TIL. Holy shit. Tbh, i enjoyed his comments. Very observant and articulate. Seemed he didn't let his bias show, now that I know his allegiance.
Is that why he's not a mod there anymore?
He's still a mod as far as I know, but became inactive around the time of the reddit blackout. And yeah, he always defended the NPA when he could, even during that time where they used land mines.
Gotcha. I might not be remembering right since it's been a while since i visited r/philippines.
Damn... Never saw that comment/post but it's hard af to defend using landmines.
I appreciate the answer.
