If I try to add an avatar to my profile I get this error on Firefox:

SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data

And I get this error on chromium based browsers:

SyntaxError: Unexpected token 'R', "Request er"... is not valid JSON

It started to work after shrinking my picture (a png) to 1024x1024, yesterday it didn't work but now it does, so, for anyone having this issue, try again and make sure the image isn't too big

It still doesn't work for me. The image is PNG, 74KB, 576x576 🤷.

Didn't work for me either. I got my jpeg down to less than 6KB, and I get rhe same error messages described by OP, multiple browsers. Same avatar loads just fine in KBin though.
