If you can do so much good with something like pocket sized lidar, why does apple have to lock it away behind a patent. As an AR developer I just don't understand that.
It irritates me that I'm going to have to get a cheap iPhone so I can actually make use of the LiDAR. Basically they're making me get a LiDAR scanner with a bunch of additional features, like a phone function and internet access that I don't want.
I'll probably just get one with a smash screen since I don't really need it.
Because, money.
