Hello, I am new to Usenet, and looking for suggestions for Usenet and Indexer

For Indexers, I got Ninja Central access and NZBgeek. And as of now i am thinking to go with 1 year plan of NZBgeek which will cost me around 12$.

For Provider, I have not come to any conclusion, But will really like your suggestion as i am new and got limited budget for year, I have heard about frugal.

Please help, and Thank you in advance

My current subscription (from the last Black Friday deal) ends Feb 2025. If I purchase another yearly subscription for this year's BF, will the new one only commence after the existing one expires?

I am a relative noob to Usenet compared to most of you and I am interested in how “the pros” might have their providers split? I am just struggling getting what I think might be the most “bang for my buck.” Anything you might be willing to share is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

Not needing specifics or links to deals. Just curious to what people are paying.

I've only started really using usent recently and I've currently spent roughly ~~£50~~ $30 for a year indexer subscription and maybe £6 p/m for provider (paid in bulk).

I've had a comment in another sub saying I've overpaid and it should be $10 for indexer and $30 for provider per year?

How much are you paying for indexers and providers?

I'm aware lifetime subscriptions exist, will look into them in the future.

I’m looking to try Usenet next month for the first time, I’m very excited.

I understand one major benefit is speed. Since it’s so fast is it feasible to visit my local library to obtain files?

I have to worry about data caps at home.

Just clarifying when someone offers a Usenet invite anyone can accept it or is there something we need to do before we can accept an invite?

Are there any good indexers with open registration right now? Is there a particular time of year that they tend to open registration?

Hi Cheapskates!,

It's Bring Your Manners to Work Day, and honestly, we'd rather not. But since we have to play nice at least once a year, here we are with a 35% discount on our one and only plan. Why? Because apparently, being polite means giving you a deal that doesn’t make us cringe. So, while you're all out there holding doors open and pretending to care about pleasantries, we're slapping a discount on our Usenet service that’s as rare as genuine customer service.

Sure, we'd rather keep charging full price, but someone decided it’s good business to look “friendly” every now and then. So, here’s your chance to enjoy our cynical attempt at politeness. Don’t expect it to last long.

That's why: as of right now until Sunday 15th of September 2024 (13:07 CET), you'll get a 35% discount!

Not a customer? Click below:

Already a customer? Click below:

So, if you feel like being “polite” to yourself and taking advantage of our reluctant generosity, go ahead and grab that 35% discount. We’re doing our part for Bring Your Manners to Work Day—begrudgingly. Just don’t expect us to keep up the nice act for long. Enjoy the savings while they last. Or don't. It's not like we care.

Cheers!

Hi for a first time user what would guys recommend for a indexer and a newshosting provider.

Question for the more experienced, I have an unlimited monthly sub with newshosting and eweka, two different backbones. Would it be beneficial at all to pay for a 2TB block from someone like usenetexpress backbone as a 3rd priority backup, or would this essentially never be used ever and a waste? My idea is it'll either cover me in maximizing the rare times where the others might not have it covered but it might also literally never be used ever.

For indexer I'm using NZBgeek and Dunkenslug.

Hi,

I reached out to support of newshosting as I am unable to login to the server to download files but I can login using the same username and password on their website. . Their server's is so glitchy that I am pissed. I tried logging in using SABnzbd and its says invalid username and password. Wth. Now I am m stuck trying to solve this issue. . I tried a second provider easy news and They charged me but my account did not get activated and I sent an email to support there too. what is wrong with these providers systems.

2nd day in a row for this.

Failed login for server news.vipernews.com [502 Authentication Failed]

I keep getting these, it's not my side, everything was working fine.

Hey all!

I have used Usenet for almost 15 months, and my current provider subscription with Newshosting is ending at the end of the month. I want to take advantage of some of the deals floating around, but when I went to cancel, Newshosting followed up with quite an interesting offer, and I'd like some opinions on it.

Because of your past support, I’d like to extend a special offer to apply a discount to your plan so that it renews at $47.88/year ($3.99/mo), which will also include unlimited Easynews and unlimited Tweaknews at no additional charge for the duration of your account. If you accept this offer, I will also add 3 months of free service to your account.

I will be combing either this offer, or the €2.50/month Eweka offer with NewsDemon ($30/year).

Curious to know what you all think.

Note: I'm mostly automated, and my indexers are NZBFinder and DrunkenSlug.

Lets eliminate the following indexers: Slug, Geek, Finder, Ninja

Other than these four, who here is primarily using some other indexers heavily?

I listed those four because those are the four who get talked about the most here. I have no idea about actual size of the indexers.

Anyone know why paysafe has disappeared as a payment option on seemingly every provider who previously supported it?

Hi everyone,

I'm thinking about getting the promotion o the megathreat for eweka, because it looks like a good deal. But what happens after one year? Is there a way of renewing for the same price? Or do I have to make a new account in one year's time?

I signed up for a 14 day trial with iLoad. It required a credit card and didn't provide a way to cancel online before getting charged - seems you have to send a support ticket. Anyway I put in the ticket several days ago and got no response at all. Anyone had better luck?

I hedged my bets though... Put in a credit card I don't use anymore and then immediately locked the card after starting the trial so they can't charge it on the renewal day.

(EDIT: Removed the part about them charging me early, sorry I confirmed that one was a merchant I'd just forgotten about and didn't update to my newer CC#)

I know usenetarchives exists but I have found some other ones from archive and want to look at them in a more interesting/accurate way like back then?

I currently have a lifetime sub to Geek and Planet, but have had rolling subscriptions to Slug and Finder which are about to expire. I guess my question is, would it be worth me renewing my Slug and Finder subs or does the collective think Geek and Planet will cover the majority of stuff? I mainly use Radarr, Sonarr, Lidarr and Readarr
